| Перед святом Пасхи Ісус, знаючи, що прийшов Його час перейти з цього світу до Отця, показав на ділі, що, полюбивши Своїх, які були в світі, до кінця полюбив їх. | Now before the feast of the passover, Jesus knowing that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own that were in the world, he loved them unto the end. |

| І під час вечері, коли диявол уже вклав у серце Іуді Симоновому Іскаріотові видати Його, | And supper being ended, the devil having already put into the heart of Judas, son of Simon Iscariot, to betray him, |

| Ісус, знаючи, що Отець усе віддав до рук Його і що Він від Бога вийшов і до Бога відходить, | Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he came forth from God, and goeth unto God, |
|

|
| встав від вечері, зняв з Себе верхній одяг і, взявши рушник, підперезався. | riseth from supper, and layeth aside his garments; and he took a towel, and girded himself. |
|

|
| Потім налив води в умивальницю і почав умивати ноги ученикам, і обтирати рушником, яким був підперезаний. | Then he poureth water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded. |
|

|
| Підходить і до Симона-Петра, а той говорить Йому: Господи! Чи Тобі умивати мої ноги? | So he cometh to Simon Peter: and he saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet? |
|

|
| Ісус сказав йому у відповідь: що Я роблю, ти тепер не знаєш, а зрозумієш потім. | Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt understand hereafter. |
|

|
| Петро каже Йому: не вмиєш ніг моїх повік. Ісус відповів йому: якщо не вмию тебе, не матимеш частини зі Мною. | Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. |
|

|
| Симон-Петро каже Йому: Господи, не тільки ноги мої, але й руки і голову. | Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head. |
|

|
| Ісус говорить йому: вмитому треба тільки ноги обмити, бо увесь чистий; і ви чисті, але не всі. | Jesus saith to him, He that is bathed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all. |
|

|
| Бо знав Він зрадника Свого, тому і сказав, що не всі вони чисті. | For he knew him that should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean. |
|

|
| Коли ж умив їм ноги і надів одяг Свій, то знову возліг і сказав їм: чи знаєте, що Я зробив вам? | So when he had washed their feet, and taken his garments, having sat down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you? |
|

|
| Ви називаєте Мене Учителем і Господом, і добре кажете, бо Я Той і є. | Ye call me, Teacher, and, Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. |
|

|
| Отже, якщо Я, Господь і Учитель, умив вам ноги, то і ви повинні вмивати ноги один одному. | If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, ye also ought to wash one another’s feet. |
|

|
| Бо Я дав вам приклад, щоб і ви робили так само, як Я зробив вам. | For I have given you an example, that ye also should do as I have done to you. |
|

|
| Істинно, істинно кажу вам: раб не більший за господаря свого, і посланець не більший за того, хто послав його. | Verily, verily, I say unto you, A servant is not greater than his lord; neither one that is sent greater than he that sent him. |
|

|
| Якщо це знаєте, блаженні ви, коли виконуєте. | If ye know these things, blessed are ye if ye do them. |
|

|

|
| Не про всіх вас кажу; Я знаю тих, кого обрав. Але нехай здійсниться Писання: той, хто їсть зі Мною хліб, підняв на Мене п’яту свою. | I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me lifted up his heel against me. |

| Тепер кажу вам, перш ніж те збудеться, щоб, як станеться, ви повірили, що це Я. | From henceforth I tell you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he. |
|

|
| Істинно, істинно кажу вам: хто приймає того, кого Я пошлю, Мене приймає; а хто Мене приймає, приймає Того, Хто послав Мене. | Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. |
|

| Сказавши це, Ісус стривожився духом, і засвідчив, і сказав: істинно, істинно кажу вам, що один з вас видасть Мене. | When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in the spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. |
|

| Тоді ученики озирались один на одного, не розуміючи, про кого Він говорить. | The disciples therefore looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake. |
|

|
| Один же з учеників Його, якого любив Ісус, возлежав при лоні Ісусовому. | Now there was at the table reclining in Jesus’ bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved. |
|

|
| Йому Симон-Петро зробив знак, щоб запитав, хто це, про кого Він говорить. | Simon Peter therefore beckoneth to him, that he should ask who it might be of whom he speaketh. |
|

|
| Той, припавши до грудей Ісуса, сказав Йому: Господи, хто це? | But he leaning back, as he was, on Jesus’ breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it? |
|

|
26
|
| Ісус відповів: той, кому Я, вмочивши, подам хліб. І, вмочивши хліб, подав Іуді Симоновому Іскаріоту. | Jesus answereth, He it is, to whom I shall give the sop, when I have dipped it. And having dipped the sop, he giveth it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. |

| І з цим хлібом увійшов у нього сатана. І сказав йому Ісус: що робиш, роби швидше. | And after the sop, then entered Satan into him. Jesus therefore saith unto him, What thou doest, do quickly. |
|

| Але ніхто з тих, що возлежали, не зрозумів, до чого Він це сказав йому. | Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spake this unto him. |
|

|
| Оскільки в Іуди була грошова скринька, то деякі гадали, що Ісус звелів йому купити те, що треба було до свята, або щоб дав що-небудь убогим. | For some thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus said unto him, Buy what things we have need of for the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor. |

| Він, взявши той хліб, одразу ж вийшов; а була ніч. | He then having received the sop straightaway went out: and it was night. |
|

|
| Коли він вийшов, Ісус промовив: нині прославився Син Людський, і Бог прославився в Ньому. | When he was gone out, Jesus saith, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him. |
|

|

|
| Якщо Бог прославився в Ньому, то і Бог прославить Його в Собі, і скоро прославить Його. | If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and straightaway shall he glorify him. |
|

|
| Діти! Недовго вже бути Мені з вами. Будете шукати Мене і, як Я сказав юдеям, — куди Я йду, ви не можете прийти, так і вам кажу тепер. | Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say unto you. |

| Заповідь нову даю вам: щоб ви любили один одного; як Я полюбив вас, так і ви любіть один одного. | A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; even as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. |
|

|
| З того знатимуть усі, що ви Мої ученики, якщо будете мати любов між собою. | By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. |
|

|
| Симон-Петро сказав Йому: Господи, куди Ти йдеш? Ісус відповів йому: куди Я йду, ти не можеш тепер іти за Мною, а згодом підеш за Мною. | Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered him, Whither I go, thou canst not follow me now; but afterward thou shalt follow me. |

| Петро сказав Йому: Господи! Чому я не можу йти за Тобою тепер? Я душу мою покладу за Тебе. | Peter saith unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee even now? I will lay down my life for thee. |
|

|
| Ісус відповів йому: душу твою за Мене покладеш? Істинно, істинно кажу тобі: не проспіває півень, як тричі зречешся Мене. | Jesus answered him, Wilt thou lay down thy life for me? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, The cock shall not crow, till thou hast denied me thrice. |
