Глава 11	Chapter 11

1	1
І сталося, коли в одному місці Він молився і перестав, один з учеників Його сказав Йому: Господи! Навчи нас молитися, як і Іоан навчив учнів своїх.	And it came to pass, as he was praying in a certain place, that when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, even as John also taught his disciples.

Він сказав їм: коли молитесь, говоріть: Отче наш, що єси на небесах, нехай святиться ім’я Твоє; нехай прийде Царство Твоє; нехай буде воля Твоя, як на небі, так і на землі.	And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, As in heaven, so on the earth.

Хліб наш насущний дай нам сьогодні;	Give us day by day our daily bread.
4	4
і прости нам провини наші, як і ми прощаємо винуватцям нашим; і не введи нас у спокусу, але визволи нас від лукавого.	And forgive us our sins; For we ourselves also forgive everyone that is indebted to us. And bring us not into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one.

І сказав їм: припустімо, що хто-небудь з вас, маючи друга, прийде до нього опівночі і скаже йому: друже! Позич мені три хліби,	And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say to him, Friend, lend me three loaves;

бо друг мій зайшов до мене з дороги, і я не маю чого дати йому.	for a friend is come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him;

А той зсередини скаже у відповідь: не турбуй мене, двері вже зачинені, і діти мої зі мною на постелі; не можу встати і дати тобі.	and he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee?

Кажу ж вам, якщо він не встане і не дасть йому по дружбі з ним, то через невідступність його, вставши, дасть йому, скільки той просить.	I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will arise and give him as many as he needeth.

І я скажу вам: просіть, і дасться вам, шукайте, і знайдете; стукайте, і відчинять вам,	And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

бо кожний, хто просить, одержує, хто шукає, знаходить, хто стукає, тому відчиняють.	For everyone that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
11	11
Який з вас, батьків, коли син попросить у нього хліба, подасть йому камінь? Або, коли попросить риби, подасть йому змію замість риби?	And of which of you that is a father shall his son ask a loaf, and he give him a stone? or a fish, and he for a fish give him a serpent?
12	12
Або, якщо попросить яйця, подасть йому скорпіона?	Or if he shall ask an egg, will he give him a scorpion?
13	13
Отже, якщо ви, будучи злими, вмієте добрі дари давати дітям вашим, то тим більше Отець Небесний дасть Духа Святого тим, хто просить у Нього.	If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

Одного разу вигнав Він біса, який був німий; і коли біс вийшов, німий заговорив; і народ дивувався.	And he was casting out a demon, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the demon was gone out, the dumb man spake; and the multitudes marveled.
15	15
Деякі ж з них говорили: Він виганяє бісів силою Вельзевула, князя бісівського.	But some of them said, By Beelzebul the prince of demons casteth he out demons.
16	16
А інші, спокушаючи, домагалися від Нього знамення з неба.	And others, trying him, sought of him a sign from heaven.
17	17
Але Він, знаючи їхні думки, сказав їм: всяке царство, що само в собі розділиться, запустіє; і дім, який розділиться сам в собі, упаде.	But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth.
18	18
Якщо ж сатана сам у собі розділився, то як устоїть його царство? А ви говорите, що Я силою Вельзевула виганяю бісів.	And if Satan also is divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that I cast out demons by Beelzebul.
19	19
Якщо ж Я силою Вельзевула виганяю бісів, то сини ваші чиєю силою виганяють їх? Тому вони будуть вам суддями.	And if I by Beelzebul cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges.
20	20
Якщо ж Я перстом Божим виганяю бісів, то, значить, прийшло до вас Царство Боже.	But if I by the finger of God cast out demons, then is the kingdom of God come upon you.
21	21
Коли сильний, озброївшись, стереже свій дім, тоді майно його в безпеці;	When the strong man fully armed guardeth his own court, his goods are in peace:
22	22
коли ж сильніший за нього нападе і переможе його, тоді візьме всю зброю його, на яку він покладався, і здобич свою роздасть.	but when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him his whole armor wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.
23	23
Хто не зі Мною, той проти Мене; і хто не збирає зі Мною, той розкидає.	He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.
24	24
Коли нечистий дух вийде з людини, то ходить місцями безводними, шукаючи спокою, і, не знаходячи, каже: повернусь у дім свій, звідки вийшов;	The unclean spirit when he is gone out of the man, passeth through waterless places, seeking rest, and finding none, he saith, I will turn back unto my house whence I came out.

і, прийшовши, знаходить його виметеним і прибраним.	And when he is come, he findeth it swept and garnished.
26	26
Тоді йде і бере з собою інших сім духів, ще лютіших за себе, і, увійшовши, живуть там, — і буває для людини тієї останнє гіршим за перше.	Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more evil than himself; and they go and dwell there: and the last state of that man becometh worse than the first.

Коли ж він це говорив, одна жінка з натовпу, піднісши голос, сказала Йому: блаженна утроба, що носила Тебе, і груди, що годували Тебе!	And it came to pass, as he said these things, a certain woman out of the multitude lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the breasts which thou didst suck.

А Він сказав: блаженні ті, що слухають слово Боже і виконують його.	But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

Коли ж багато народу стало збиратися, Він почав говорити: рід цей лукавий — він знамення шукає, і знамення не дасться йому, крім знамення Іони пророка.	And when the multitudes were gathering together unto him, he began to say, This generation is evil: it seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet.

Бо як Іона був знаменням ниневитянам, так буде і Син Людський родові цьому.	For even as Jonah became a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation.
31	31
Цариця південна постане на суд з людьми роду цього і осудить їх, бо вона від краю землі прийшла послухати мудрість Соломонову; а ось тут Більший від Соломона.	The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and shall condemn them: for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, something greater than Solomon is here.

Ниневитяни постануть на суд з родом цим і осудять його, бо вони покаялися після проповіді Іониної, а ось тут Більший від Іони.	The men of Nineveh shall stand up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, something greater than Jonah is here.

Ніхто, засвітивши світильник, не ставить його в закритому місці чи під посудину, але на свічник, щоб усі, що входять, бачили світло.	And no man, when he hath lighted a lamp, putteth it in a cellar, neither under the bushel, but on the stand, that they which enter in may see the light.

Світильником тіла є око; отже, якщо око твоє буде чистим, то і все тіло твоє буде світлим; а якщо воно буде нечистим, то і тіло твоє буде темним.	The lamp of the body is the eye: when therefore thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when it is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.

Отже, дивись, щоб світло, яке в тобі, не стало темрявою.	Look therefore whether the light that is in thee be not darkness.

Якщо ж тіло твоє все світле і немає жодної темної частини, то буде світле все так, ніби світильник сяйвом освітлює тебе.	If therefore thy whole body be full of light, having no part dark, it shall be wholly full of light, as when the lamp with its bright shining doth give thee light.
37	37
Коли Він говорив це, один фарисей запросив Його до себе на обід. Він прийшов і возліг.	Now as he spake, a certain Pharisee asked him to dine with him: and he went in, and sat down to meat.
38	38
Фарисей же здивувався, побачивши, що Він не вимив рук перед обідом.	And when the Pharisee saw it, he marveled that he had not first bathed himself before dinner.
39	39
Але Господь сказав йому: нині ви, фарисеї, очищаєте зовні чашу і блюдо, а нутро ваше сповнене злодійства та лукавства.	And the Lord said unto him, Now ye the Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the platter; but your inward part is full of extortion and wickedness.
40	40
Нерозумні! Чи не Той, Хто створив зовнішнє, створив і внутрішнє?	Ye foolish ones, did not he that made the outside make the inside also?
41	41
Краще подавайте милостиню з того, що маєте, тоді все буде у вас чисте.	But give for alms those things which are within; and behold, all things are clean unto you.
42	42
Але горе вам, фарисеям, що даєте десяту частину з м’яти, рути і з усякого зілля, а не дбаєте про суд і любов Божу: і це належить робити, і того не залишати.	But woe unto you Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and every herb, and pass over justice and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

Горе вам, фарисеям, що любите перші місця в синагогах і привітання на торжищах.	Woe unto you Pharisees! for ye love the chief seats in the synagogues, and the salutations in the marketplaces.
44	44
Горе вам, книжники і фарисеї, лицеміри, що ви — як ті невідомі гроби, поверх яких люди ходять і не знають того.	Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as the tombs which appear not, and the men walking over them know it not.
45	45
На це хтось із законників сказав Йому: Учителю, говорячи це, Ти і нас ображаєш.	And answering, one of the lawyers saith unto him, Teacher, in saying this thou reproachest us also.
46	46
Але Він сказав: і вам, законникам, горе, бо накладаєте на людей тягарі, які важко носити, самі ж жодним пальцем своїм не доторкнетесь до них.	And he said, Woe unto you lawyers also! for ye load men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.

Горе вам, що будуєте гробниці пророкам, яких повбивали батьки ваші:	Woe unto you! for ye build the tombs of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.
48	48
цим ви свідчите і схвалюєте діла батьків ваших, і погоджуєтеся з ними, бо ті повбивали пророків, ви ж будуєте їм гробниці.	So ye bear witness and consent unto the works of your fathers: for they killed them, and ye build their tombs.
49	49
Тому і премудрість Божа сказала: пошлю до них пророків і апостолів, і декого з них уб’ють, а декого виженуть.	Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send unto them prophets and apostles; and some of them they shall kill and persecute;
50	50
Хай же буде покараний рід цей за кров усіх пророків, пролиту від створення світу,	that the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;
51	51
від крови Авеля до крови Захарії, вбитого між жертовником і храмом. Так, кажу вам, стягнеться з роду цього.	from the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zechariah, who perished between the altar and the sanctuary: yea, I say unto you, it shall be required of this generation.

Горе вам, законникам, що ви взяли ключ розуміння: самі не ввійшли і тим, хто хотів увійти, боронили.	Woe unto you lawyers! for ye took away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.

Коли Він говорив їм це, книжники і фарисеї почали дуже нападати на Нього, запитуючи багато про що,	And as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to press upon him vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of many things;

підкопуючись під Нього і намагаючись уловити з уст Його що-небудь таке, щоб звинуватити Його.	laying wait for him, seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him.
