Глава 9	Chapter 9

1	1
Скликавши дванадцятьох, Ісус дав їм силу і владу над усіма бісами і зціляти від недуг.	And he called the twelve together, and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases.
2	2
І послав їх проповідувати Царство Боже та зціляти хворих.	And he sent them forth to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.
3	3
І сказав їм: нічого не беріть на дорогу: ні палиці, ні торби, ні хліба, ні срібла, і не майте по дві одежі.	And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor wallet, nor bread, nor money; neither have two coats apiece.
4	4
І в який дім увійдете, там залишайтесь і звідтіля виходьте в дорогу.	And into whatsoever house ye enter, there abide, and thence depart.
5	5
А якщо де не приймуть вас, то, виходячи з того міста, обтрусіть і порох з ніг ваших на свідчення проти них.	And as many as will not receive you, when ye depart from that city, shake off even the dust from your feet for a testimony against them.

Вони вийшли і проходили по селах, благовістячи і зціляючи повсюди.	And they departed, and went throughout the villages, preaching the gospel, and healing everywhere.

Почув Ірод четвертовладник про все, що діялося через Нього, і стривожився, бо одні говорили, що то Іоан повстав з мертвих;	Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by him: and he was much perplexed, because that it was said by some, that John was risen from the dead;

інші ж — що Ілля з’явився, а ще інші, що воскрес один з давніх пророків.	and by some, that Elijah had appeared; and by others, that one of the old prophets was risen again.

І сказав Ірод: Іоанові я відсік голову; хто ж Цей, про Кого я таке чую? І намагався побачити Його.	And Herod said, John I beheaded: but who is this, about whom I hear such things? And he sought to see him.

Апостоли, повернувшись, розповіли Йому, що вони зробили. І Він, взявши їх з Собою, відійшов осібно в безлюдне місце біля міста, що зветься Вифсаїда.	And the apostles, when they were returned, declared unto him what things they had done. And he took them, and withdrew apart to a desert place of a city called Bethsaida.

Але люди, довідавшись, пішли за Ним; і Він, прийнявши їх, говорив їм про Царство Боже і зціляв тих, хто потребував зцілення.	But the multitudes perceiving it followed him: and he received them, and spake to them of the kingdom of God, and them that had need of healing he cured.

День же почав схилятись. І приступивши до Нього, дванадцять сказали Йому: відпусти людей, щоб вони пішли в навколишні села і селища ночувати і знайти їжу, бо ми тут у безлюдному місці.	And the day began to wear away; and the twelve came, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages and the country round about, and lodge, and get provisions: for we are here in a desert place.

А Він сказав їм: ви дайте їм їсти. Вони сказали: нема в нас нічого, крім п’яти хлібів та двох рибин; хіба піти нам та купити їжі для всіх цих людей?	But he said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they said, We have no more than five loaves and two fish; except we should go and buy food for all this people.

Бо їх було близько п’яти тисяч мужів. Але Він сказав ученикам Своїм: розсадіть їх рядами по п’ятдесят.	For they were about five thousand men. And he said unto his disciples, Make them sit down in companies by fifties.
15	15
І зробили так, і розсадили всіх.	And they did so, and made them all sit down.
16	16
Він же, узявши п’ять хлібів і дві рибини і поглянувши на небо, благословив їх, переломив і дав ученикам, щоб роздали народові.	And he took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and brake; and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude.
17	17
І всі їли, і наситились, і набрали залишків дванадцять кошиків.	And they ate, and were all filled: and there was taken up that which remained over to them of broken pieces, twelve baskets.
18	18
І сталося, коли Він молився у безлюдному місці, ученики були з Ним. Він запитав їх: за кого вважає Мене народ?	And it came to pass, as he was praying apart, the disciples were with him: and he asked them, saying, Who do the multitudes say that I am?
19	19
Вони сказали у відповідь: за Іоана Хрестителя, а інші за Іллю; а ще інші говорять, що воскрес один з давніх пророків.	And they answered and said, John the Baptist; but others say, Elijah; and others, that one of the old prophets is risen again.
20	20
Він же спитав їх: а ви за кого Мене вважаєте? Петро відповів: за Христа Божого.	And he said unto them, But who say ye that I am? And Peter answered and said, The Christ of God.
21	21
Він же суворо наказав їм нікому не говорити про це,	But he charged them, and commanded them to tell this to no man;
22	22
сказавши, що Синові Людському належить багато постраждати, бути зневаженим старійшинами, первосвящениками і книжниками, і бути вбитим, і на третій день воскреснути.	saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up.
23	23
До всіх же сказав: якщо хто хоче йти за Мною, нехай зречеться себе, візьме хрест свій та йде за Мною.	And he said unto all, If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
24	24
Бо хто хоче зберегти свою душу, той погубить її, а хто погубить душу свою заради Мене, той збереже її.	For whosoever would save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.
25	25
Бо що за користь матиме людина, якщо придбає ввесь світ, себе ж саму згубить чи занапастить?	For what is a man profited, if he gain the whole world, and lose or forfeit his own self?
26	26
Бо хто посоромиться Мене і слів Моїх, того й Син Людський посоромиться, коли прийде у славі Своїй, і Отця, і святих ангелів.	For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in his own glory, and the glory of the Father, and of the holy angels.

Воістину кажу вам: є деякі з присутніх тут, які не зазнають смерти, доки не побачать Царство Боже.	But I tell you of a truth, There are some of them that stand here, who shall in no wise taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.

Після цих слів, днів через вісім, узявши Петра, Іоана і Якова, зійшов Він на гору помолитись.	And it came to pass about eight days after these sayings, that he took with him Peter and John and James, and went up into the mountain to pray.

І коли Він молився, вигляд лиця Його змінився, і одяг Його зробився білим, блискучим.	And as he was praying, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment became white and dazzling.
30	30
І ось два мужі розмовляли з Ним, то були Мойсей і Ілля:	And behold, there talked with him two men, who were Moses and Elijah;
31	31
з’явившись у славі, вони говорили про кінець Його, який Йому належить завершити в Єрусалимі.	who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he was about to accomplish at Jerusalem.

Петро ж і ті, що були з Ним, зморені були сном; але, прокинувшись, побачили славу Його і двох мужів, які стояли з Ним.	Now Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: but when they were fully awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.

Коли вони відійшли від Нього, Петро сказав Ісусові: Наставнику, добре нам тут бути; поставимо три намети: Тобі один, Мойсеєві один і один Іллі, — не знаючи сам, що говорить.	And it came to pass, as they were parting from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah: not knowing what he said.

Коли ж він це говорив, з’явилася хмара і покрила їх, і вони злякались, як увійшли в хмару.	And while he said these things, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud.
35	35
І був з хмари Голос, Який говорив: Цей є Син Мій Улюблений; Його слухайте!	And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear ye him.
36	36
І коли був цей Голос, Ісус залишився один. А вони промовчали і нікому нічого не розповідали в ті дні про те, що бачили.	And when the voice came, Jesus was found alone. And they held their peace, and told no man in those days any of the things which they had seen.
37	37
Наступного дня, як зійшли вони з гори, зустріло Його багато народу.	And it came to pass, on the next day, when they were come down from the mountain, a great multitude met him.

Раптом хтось з народу викликнув: Учителю, благаю Тебе, зглянься на сина мого, бо він у мене єдиний:	And behold, a man from the multitude cried out, saying, Teacher, I beseech thee to look upon my son; for he is mine only child:

його хапає дух, і він зненацька скрикує, і трясе його так, що він пускає піну; і ледве відходить від нього, змучивши його.	and behold, a spirit taketh him, and he suddenly crieth out; and it teareth him that he foameth, and it hardly departeth from him, bruising him sorely.
40	40
Я просив учеників Твоїх, щоб вигнали його; та вони не змогли.	And I besought thy disciples to cast it out; and they could not.
41	41
Ісус же сказав у відповідь: о роде невірний і розбещений! Доки буду з вами і терпітиму вас? Приведи до Мене сина твого.	And Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and bear with you? bring thy son hither.
42	42
Коли ж той ще йшов, біс звалив його і стряс, але Ісус заборонив нечистому духові і зцілив отрока, і віддав його батькові його.	And as he was yet a coming, the demon dashed him down, and tare him grievously. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the boy, and gave him back to his father.

І всі дивувались величі Божій. Коли всі ще дивувались усьому, що творив Ісус, Він сказав ученикам Своїм:	And they were all astonished at the majesty of God. But while all were marveling at all the things which Jesus did, he said unto his disciples,
44	44
вкладіть у вуха ваші ці слова: Син Людський має бути виданий в руки людські.	Let these words sink into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered up into the hands of men.
45	45
Вони ж не зрозуміли слова цього, і воно було закрите від них, так що вони не збагнули його, а запитати Його про це слово боялись.	But they understood not this saying, and it was concealed from them, that they should not perceive it; and they were afraid to ask him about this saying.
46	46
Спало ж їм на думку — хто б з них був більший?	And there arose a reasoning among them, which of them was the greatest.
47	47
Ісус же, знаючи думку серця їхнього, взяв дитину і поставив її перед Собою	But when Jesus saw the reasoning of their heart, he took a little child, and set him by his side,
48	48
і сказав їм: хто прийме оце дитя в ім’я Моє, той Мене приймає; і хто приймає Мене, той приймає Того, Хто послав Мене; бо хто найменший між вами, той є великий.	and said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this little child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.

При цьому Іоан сказав: Наставнику, ми бачили чоловіка, який іменем Твоїм виганяє бісів, і заборонили йому, бо він не ходить з нами.	And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out demons in thy name; and we forbade him, because he followeth not with us.
50	50
Ісус сказав йому: не забороняйте; бо хто не проти вас, той за вас.	And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.
51	51
І було, коли наближалися дні відходу Його з цього світу, Він твердо вирішив іти до Єрусалима.	And it came to pass, when the days were well-nigh come that he should be received up, he steadfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,
52	52
І послав вісників перед лицем Своїм; і вони пішли, і увійшли до села самарянського, щоб приготувати Йому.	and sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him.
53	53
Але там не прийняли Його, бо було видно, що йде Він до Єрусалима.	And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he were going to Jerusalem.
54	54
Побачивши це, ученики Його, Яків і Іоан, сказали: Господи, хочеш, ми скажемо, щоб вогонь зійшов з неба і спалив їх, як і Ілля вчинив?	And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we bid fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elijah did?

Але Він, обернувшись до них, заборонив їм і сказав: не знаєте, якого ви духу;	But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.
56	56
бо Син Людський прийшов не губити душі людські, а спасати. І пішли до іншого села.	For the Son of man came not to destroy men’s lives but to save them. And they went to another village.
57	57
Сталось, що коли вони були в дорозі, хтось сказав Йому: Господи! Я піду за Тобою, куди б Ти не пішов.	And it came to pass, as they went on the way, a certain man said unto him, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest, Lord.
58	58
Ісус сказав йому: лисиці мають нори, і птахи небесні — гнізда; а Син Людський не має, де й голови прихилити.	And Jesus said unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the heaven have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
59	59
А іншому сказав: іди за Мною. Той сказав: Господи, дозволь мені перше піти і поховати батька мого.	And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
60	60
Але Ісус сказав йому: залиш мертвим ховати своїх мерців; а ти йди, благовісти Царство Боже.	But Jesus said unto him, Leave the dead to bury their own dead; but go thou and publish abroad the kingdom of God.
61	61
І ще інший сказав: я піду за Тобою, Господи, тільки дозволь перше мені попрощатися з домашніми моїми.	And another also said, I will follow thee, Lord; but first suffer me to bid farewell to them that are at my house.
62	62
Але Ісус сказав йому: жоден, хто поклав руку свою на рало і озирається назад, не придатний для Царства Божого.	But Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
