| Сказав також їм і притчу про те, як треба завжди молитися і не занепадати духом, | And he spake also a parable unto them to the end that they ought always to pray, and not to faint; |
|

|
| кажучи: в одному місті був суддя, який Бога не боявся і людей не соромився. | saying, There was in a city a judge, who feared not God, and regarded not man: |
|

|
| В тому ж місті була одна вдова, і вона, приходячи до нього, говорила: захисти мене від суперника мого. | and there was a widow in that city; and she came oft unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. |
|

|
| Але він довгий час не хотів. А потім сказав сам собі: хоч я і Бога не боюся і людей не соромлюсь, | And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, and regard not man; |
|

|
| але, оскільки ця вдова не дає мені спокою, захищу її, щоб вона не приходила більш докучати мені. | yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest she wear me out by her continual coming. |
|

|
| І сказав Господь: чуєте, що каже суддя неправедний? | And the Lord said, Hear what the unrighteous judge saith. |
|

|
| Хіба Бог не захистить обранців Своїх, що волають до Нього день і ніч, чи баритиметься до них? | And shall not God avenge his elect, that cry to him day and night, though he is long-suffering over them? |
|

|

|
| Кажу вам, що захистить їх скоро. Але Син Людський, коли прийде, чи знайде віру на землі? | I say unto you, that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? |
|

| Сказав також і до деяких, які були упевнені в собі, що вони праведні, а інших принижували, таку притчу. | And he spake this parable unto certain who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and set all others at nought: |
|

|
| Два чоловіки прийшли до храму помолитися: один фарисей, а другий митар. | Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. |
|

|
| Фарисей, ставши, так про себе молився: Боже! Дякую Тобі, що я не такий, як інші люди, грабіжники, неправедні, перелюбники, або як цей митар. | The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed thus, God, I thank thee, that I am not as the rest of men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. |

| Пощу двічі на тиждень, даю десятину з усього, що надбаю. | I fast twice in the week; I give tithes of all that I get. |
|

|
| А митар, стоячи віддалік, не смів навіть очей звести на небо; але, б’ючи себе в груди, говорив: Боже, будь милостивий до мене, грішного! | And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God, be thou merciful to me a sinner. |

| Кажу вам, що цей пішов до дому свого виправданий більше, ніж той: бо всякий, хто підноситься, принижений буде, а хто принижує себе, піднесеться. | I say unto you, This man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for everyone that exalteth himself shall be humbled; but he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. |

| Приносили ж до Нього і дітей, щоб Він доторкнувся до них; а ученики, бачачи те, боронили їм. | And they were bringing unto him also their babes, that he should touch them: but when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. |
|

| Але Ісус, підізвавши їх, сказав: пустіть дітей приходити до Мене і не забороняйте їм; бо таких є Царство Боже. | But Jesus calling them unto him, said, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for to such belongeth the kingdom of God. |
|

|
| Істинно кажу вам: хто не прийме Царства Божого, як дитя, той не ввійде в нього. | Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall in no wise enter therein. |
|

|
| І запитав Його один з начальників, кажучи: Учителю благий, що мені зробити, щоб успадкувати життя вічне? | And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? |
|

|
| Ісус сказав йому: чого ти називаєш Мене благим? Ніхто не благий, тільки один Бог. | And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, even God. |
|

|
| Заповіді знаєш: не перелюбствуй, не вбивай, не кради, не лжесвідчи, шануй батька твого і матір твою. | Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honor thy father and thy mother. |
|

|
| Він же сказав: усе це я зберіг від юности моєї. | And he said, All these things have I observed from my youth up. |
|

|
| Почувши це, Ісус сказав: ще одного не вистачає тобі: все, що маєш, продай і роздай убогим, і матимеш скарб на небесах, і йди слідом за Мною. | And when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, One thing thou lackest yet: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. |

| Він же, почувши це, засмутився, бо був дуже багатий. | But when he heard these things, he became exceeding sorrowful; for he was very rich. |
|

|
| Ісус же, побачивши, що він засмутився, сказав: як важко тим, що мають багатство, увійти в Царство Боже! | And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! |
|

|
| Бо легше верблюдові пройти крізь вушко голки, ніж багатому ввійти до Царства Божого. | For it is easier for a camel to enter in through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. |
|

|
| Ті, що чули, сказали: то хто ж може спастися? | And they that heard it said, Then who can be saved? |
|
27
|
27
|
| Він же сказав: неможливе для людей — можливе для Бога. | But he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. |
|

|

|
| Петро ж сказав: ось ми покинули все і пішли за Тобою. | And Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee. |
|

|
| Він сказав їм: істинно говорю вам, що немає нікого, хто покинув би дім, або батьків, або братів, або сестер, або жінку, або дітей заради Царства Божого | And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God’s sake, |

| і не одержав би значно більше в цей час, а у віці майбутньому — життя вічне. | who shall not receive manifold more in this time, and in the world to come eternal life. |
|

|
| Взявши ж дванадцятьох учеників Своїх, сказав їм: ось ми йдемо до Єрусалима, і збудеться все, написане пророками про Сина Людського, | And he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all the things that are written through the prophets shall be accomplished unto the Son of man. |

| бо видадуть Його язичникам, і глузуватимуть з Нього, і скривдять Його, і обплюють Його. | For he shall be delivered up unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and shamefully treated, and spit upon: |
|

|
| І будуть бити, і уб’ють Його; та на третій день воскресне. | and they shall scourge and kill him: and the third day he shall rise again. |
|

|
| Але вони нічого з цього не зрозуміли; і були слова ці приховані для них, і вони не розуміли сказаного. | And they understood none of these things; and this saying was hidden from them, and they perceived not the things that were said. |

|
| Коли ж наближався Він до Єрихона, один сліпий сидів край дороги і просив милостині. | And it came to pass, as he drew nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the wayside begging: |

|
| Почувши, що повз нього проходить народ, запитав: що це таке? | and hearing a multitude going by, he inquired what this meant. |
|

|
37
|
| Йому сказали, що Ісус Назарянин проходить. | And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by. |
|

|
38
|
| Тоді він закричав: Ісусе, Сину Давидів, помилуй мене! | And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me. |
|

|
39
|
| І ті, що йшли попереду, примушували його замовкнути; а він ще голосніше кричав: Сину Давидів, помилуй мене! | And they that went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried out the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me. |
|

|
| Зупинившись, Ісус звелів привести його до Себе. Коли той наблизився до Нього, спитав його: | And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him, |
|

|
41
|
| чого ти хочеш від Мене? Він сказав: Господи, щоб мені прозріти! | saying, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight. |
|
42
|
42
|
| Ісус сказав йому: прозри! Віра твоя спасла тебе. | And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath made thee whole. |
|
43
|
43
|
| І він умить прозрів і пішов за Ним, славлячи Бога; і всі люди, побачивши це, віддали хвалу Богові. | And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God. |
