Глава 7	Chapter 7

1	1
Коли ж Він скінчив усі слова Свої до людей, що слухали Його, то увійшов до Капернаума.	Now when he had ended all his sayings in the ears of the people, he entered into Capernaum.

У одного сотника був хворий при смерті слуга, яким той дорожив.	And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear unto him, was sick and at the point of death.

Почувши про Ісуса, він послав до Нього старійшин юдейських просити Його, щоб прийшов зцілити слугу його.	And when he heard concerning Jesus, he sent unto him elders of the Jews, asking him that he would come and save his servant.

І вони, прийшовши до Ісуса, щиро благали Його, кажучи: він достойний, щоб Ти зробив для нього це,	And they, when they came to Jesus, besought him earnestly, saying, He is worthy that thou shouldest do this for him;

бо любить народ наш і збудував нам синагогу.	for he loveth our nation, and himself built us our synagogue.

Ісус пішов з ними. І коли Він був уже недалеко від дому, сотник послав до Нього друзів сказати Йому: Господи, не трудися, бо я недостойний, щоб Ти під дах мій увійшов.	And Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself; for I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof:

Тому і самого себе не вважаю я достойним прийти до Тебе; але скажи тільки слово, і одужає слуга мій.	wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say the word, and my servant shall be healed.
8	8
Бо і я, людина підвладна, маючи під собою воїнів, кажу одному: йди, і він іде; і другому: прийди, і приходить; і слузі моєму: роби те, і робить.	For I also am a man set under authority, having under myself soldiers: and I say to this one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

Почувши це, Ісус здивувався йому і, повернувшись, сказав до народу, що йшов за Ним: кажу вам, що навіть в Ізраїлі Я не знайшов такої віри.	And when Jesus heard these things, he marveled at him, and turned and said unto the multitude that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

Посланці, повернувшись у дім, знайшли хворого слугу здоровим.	And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.

Після цього Ісус пішов до міста, що зветься Наїн; і з Ним ішло багато учеників Його і безліч народу.	And it came to pass on the next day, that he went to a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and a great multitude.

Коли ж Він підійшов до воріт міста, саме виносили померлого, єдиного сина у матері, а вона була вдова; і чимало народу йшло з нею з міста.	Now when he drew near to the gate of the city, behold, there was carried out one that was dead, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.

Побачивши її, Господь змилосердився над нею і сказав їй: не плач.	And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.
14	14
І, підійшовши, доторкнувся до мар; ті, що несли, зупинилися, і Він сказав: юначе, тобі кажу, встань!	And he came nigh and touched the bier: and the bearers stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.
15	15
І мертвий сів і почав говорити; і віддав його Ісус матері його.	And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he gave him to his mother.
16	16
І всіх охопив страх, і славили Бога, кажучи: великий пророк постав між нами, і Бог відвідав народ Свій.	And fear took hold on all: and they glorified God, saying, A great prophet is arisen among us: and, God hath visited his people.
17	17
Така чутка про Нього розійшлася по всій Юдеї і по всьому тому краю.	And this report went forth concerning him in the whole of Judea, and in all the region round about.
18	18
І сповістили про все те Іоана учні його.	And the disciples of John told him of all these things.
19	19
Іоан, прикликавши двох з учнів своїх, послав до Ісуса спитати: чи Ти Той, Хто має прийти, чи іншого нам чекати?	And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that cometh, or look we for another?
20	20
Вони, прийшовши до Ісуса, сказали: Іоан Хреститель послав нас до Тебе спитати — чи Ти Той, Хто має прийти, чи іншого нам чекати?	And when the men were come unto him, they said, John the Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that cometh, or look we for another?

А в той час Він зцілив багатьох від недуг і ран, і від злих духів, і багатьом сліпим дарував прозріння.	And in that same hour he cured many of diseases and plagues and evil spirits; and on many that were blind he bestowed sight.
22	22
І сказав їм Ісус у відповідь: підіть, розкажіть Іоанові, що ви бачили і чули: сліпі прозрівають, криві ходять, прокажені очищаються, глухі чують, мертві воскресають, убогі благовістять.	And Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and tell John the things which ye have seen and heard; that the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, the poor have good tidings preached to them.

І блаженний той, хто не спокуситься через Мене!	And blessed is he, whosoever shall find no occasion of stumbling in me.
24	24
А як одійшли учні Іоана, Він почав говорити народові про Іоана: на що ходили ви дивитися в пустелю? Чи на тростину, що вітер колише?	And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to behold? a reed shaken with the wind?

На кого ходили дивитися? Чи на людину, одягнену в м’який одяг? Але ті, що одягаються пишно та живуть у розкошах, знаходяться в царських палатах.	But what went ye out to see? a man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they that are gorgeously appareled, and live delicately, are in kings’ courts.

На що ж ви ходили дивитися? На пророка? Так, кажу вам, і більше, ніж на пророка.	But what went ye out to see? a prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet.

Це той, про кого написано: ось Я посилаю ангела Мого перед лицем Твоїм, який приготує путь Твою перед Тобою.	This is he of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, Who shall prepare thy way before thee.
28	28
Бо кажу вам: з народжених жінками немає жодного пророка, більшого за Іоана Хрестителя, але найменший у Царстві Божому більший за нього.	For I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: yet he that is but little in the kingdom of God is greater than he.

І всі люди, що слухали Його, навіть і митарі, визнавши славу Бога, хрестилися хрещенням Іоановим.	And all the people when they heard, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.
30	30
Фарисеї ж і законники відкинули волю Божу про себе і не хрестилися від нього.	But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected for themselves the counsel of God, being not baptized of him.
31	31
Тоді Господь сказав: кому уподібню людей роду цього і до кого вони подібні?	Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation, and to what are they like?

Вони подібні до дітей, що сидять на торжищах і кличуть одне одного й кажуть: ми грали вам на сопілці, а ви не танцювали; ми співали вам жалібних пісень, а ви не плакали.	They are like unto children that sit in the marketplace, and call one to another, and say, We piped unto you, and ye did not dance; we wailed unto you, and ye did not weep.

Бо прийшов Іоан Хреститель, який ні хліба не їсть, ні вина не п’є, і говорите: він біса має.	For John the Baptist is come eating no bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a demon.

Прийшов Син Людський, Який їсть і п’є, і говорите: ось чоловік, Який любить їсти, пити вино, друг митарям і грішникам.	The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold, a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!

І виправдалася премудрість всіма дітьми своїми^*.	And wisdom is justified of all her children.

Один з фарисеїв просив Його, щоб спожив з ним їжі, і Він, прийшовши в дім фарисея, возліг.	And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he entered into the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to meat.
37	37
І ось жінка з того міста, яка була грішницею, довідавшись, що Він перебуває в домі фарисея, принесла алавастрову посудину з миром	And behold, a woman in the city, who was a sinner, when she knew that he was sitting at meat in the Pharisee’s house, she brought an alabaster cruse of ointment,
38	38
і, припавши до ніг Його ззаду, плачучи, почала обмивати ноги Його слізьми і обтирати волоссям голови своєї, цілувала ноги Його і мастила миром.	and standing at his feet behind him, weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.

Фарисей же, що запросив Його, побачивши це, сказав сам собі: якби Він був пророком, то знав би, хто і яка жінка доторкається до Нього, бо вона грішниця.	Now when the Pharisee that had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have perceived who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him, that she is a sinner.

Звернувшись до нього, Ісус сказав: Симоне, я маю тобі дещо сказати. Він же говорить: кажи, Вчителю.	And Jesus answered and said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Teacher, say on.

Ісус сказав: у одного лихваря було два боржники, один винен був п’ятсот динаріїв, а другий п’ятдесят.	A certain lender had two debtors: the one owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.
42	42
Коли ж вони не мали чим віддати, він простив обом. Скажи ж, котрий з них більше полюбить його?	And when they had not wherewith to pay, he forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?
43	43
У відповідь Симон сказав: думаю, що той, якому більше простив. Він сказав: правильно ти розсудив.	And Simon answered and said, He, I suppose, to whom he forgave the most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.

І, обернувшись до жінки, сказав Симонові: чи бачиш цю жінку? Я прийшов у дім твій, і ти не дав Мені води на ноги, вона ж слізьми обливала ноги Мої і волоссям голови своєї обтерла.	And turning to the woman, he said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thy house, thou gavest no water for my feet: but she hath wetted my feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head.

Ти цілування не дав Мені, а вона, відколи Я прийшов, не перестає цілувати ноги Мої.	Thou gavest me no kiss: but she, since the time I came in, hath not ceased to kiss my feet.

Ти оливою не помастив голови Моєї, вона ж миром намастила ноги Мої.	My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but she hath anointed my feet with ointment.
47	47
Через те кажу тобі: прощаються гріхи її численні за те, що вона полюбила багато, а кому мало прощається, той мало любить.	Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.

Їй же сказав: прощаються тобі гріхи.	And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.

Ті, що були з Ним, почали говорити про себе: хто Він, що й гріхи прощає?	And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that even forgiveth sins?
50	50
Він же сказав жінці: віра твоя спасла тебе; йди з миром.	And he said unto the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.
