Глава 12	Chapter 12

1	1
Тим часом, коли зібралися тисячі народу, так що тиснули один одного, Він почав говорити, передусім ученикам Своїм: бережіться закваски фарисейської, яка є лицемірство.	In the mean time, when the many thousands of the multitude were gathered together, insomuch that they trod one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

Немає нічого прихованого, що не відкрилося б, і таємного, про що б не дізналися.	But there is nothing covered up, that shall not be revealed; and hidden, that shall not be known.

Тому те, що ви сказали у пітьмі, почується при світлі; і що говорили на вухо в домах, те буде проголошене на покрівлях.	Wherefore whatsoever ye have said in the darkness shall be heard in the light; and what ye have spoken in the ear in the inner chambers shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.

Кажу ж вам, друзям Моїм: не бійтеся тих, що вбивають тіло і потім нічого більше зробити не можуть,	And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

але скажу вам, кого боятися: бійтеся того, хто має владу після вбиття вкинути в геєну вогненну; так, кажу вам, того бійтеся.	But I will warn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, who after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

Чи не п’ять малих птахів продаються за два асарія? І жоден з них не забутий Богом.	Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? and not one of them is forgotten in the sight of God.

А у вас і волосся на голові все перелічене. Отже, не бійтеся; ви дорожчі за багатьох малих птахів.	But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Кажу ж вам: кожного, хто визнає Мене перед людьми, і Син Людський визнає перед ангелами Божими;	And I say unto you, Everyone who shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:
9	9
а хто зречеться Мене перед людьми, той відкинутий буде перед ангелами Божими.	but he that denieth me in the presence of men shall be denied in the presence of the angels of God.
10	10
І кожному, хто скаже слово на Сина Людського, проститься; а хто Святого Духа хулитиме, тому не проститься.	And everyone who shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Spirit it shall not be forgiven.

Коли ж приведуть вас у синагоги, до правителів і володарів, не турбуйтесь, як і що відповідати або що говорити,	And when they bring you before the synagogues, and the rulers, and the authorities, be not anxious how or what ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:

бо в той час Святий Дух навчить вас, що треба говорити.	for the Holy Spirit shall teach you in that very hour what ye ought to say.

Хтось з народу сказав Йому: Учителю, скажи братові моєму, щоб він розділив спадщину зі мною!	And one out of the multitude said unto him, Teacher, bid my brother divide the inheritance with me.
14	14
Він же сказав чоловікові тому: хто настановив Мене судити чи ділити вас?	But he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?
15	15
При цьому сказав їм: глядіть, остерігайтеся користолюбства, бо життя людини не залежить від багатства її маєтку.	And he said unto them, Take heed, and keep yourselves from covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
16	16
І сказав їм притчу: в одного багатого чоловіка добре вродила нива.	And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
17	17
І міркував він сам собі: що мені робити? Немає куди мені зібрати плодів моїх.	and he reasoned within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have not where to bestow my fruits?
18	18
І сказав: ось що зроблю — зруйную житниці мої та збудую більші, і зберу туди весь хліб мій і все добро моє.	And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
19	19
І скажу душі моїй: душе, багато маєш добра, що лежить у тебе на багато років: спочивай, їж, пий, веселись.	And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, be merry.
20	20
Але Бог сказав йому: нерозумний! Цієї ночі душу твою візьмуть у тебе; кому ж дістанеться те, що ти наготував?	But God said unto him, Thou foolish one, this night is thy soul required of thee; and the things which thou hast prepared, whose shall they be?
21	21
Так буває з тим, хто збирає скарби для себе, а не в Бога багатіє.	So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
22	22
Сказав же ученикам Своїм: тому кажу вам, — не піклуйтесь про душу вашу, що вам їсти, ні про тіло ваше, — у що вдягнетеся.	And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat; nor yet for the body, what ye shall put on.

Душа більша за їжу, і тіло — за одяг.	Life is more than food, and the body than raiment.
24	24
Погляньте на воронів: вони не сіють, не жнуть; у них немає ні комор, ні житниць, і Бог годує їх; наскільки ж ви кращі за птахів!	Consider the ravens, that they sow not, neither reap; which have no store-chamber nor barn; and God feedeth them: of how much more value are ye than the birds!

Та й хто з вас, піклуючись, може додати собі зросту хоч на один лікоть?	And which of you by being anxious can add unto the measure of his life one cubit?
26	26
Отже, якщо і найменшого зробити не можете, чого піклуєтесь про інше?	If then ye are not able to do even that which is least, why are ye anxious concerning the rest?

Погляньте на лілеї, як вони ростуть: не трудяться, не прядуть. Кажу ж вам, що й Соломон у всій славі своїй не одягався так, як одна з них.	Consider the lilies, how they grow: they toil not, neither do they spin; yet I say unto you, Even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Коли ж траву на полі, яка сьогодні є, а завтра буде кинута у піч, Бог так одягає, то наскільки краще вас, маловіри!	But if God doth so clothe the grass, which today is in the field, and tomorrow is cast into the oven; how much more shall he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
29	29
Отже, не шукайте, що вам їсти або що пити, і не турбуйтесь,	And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
30	30
бо всього того шукають люди світу цього, ваш же Отець знає, чого потребуєте.	For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: but your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
31	31
Краще шукайте Царства Божого, а те все додасться вам.	Yet seek ye the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added unto you.
32	32
Не бійся, мале стадо! Бо Отець ваш благозволив дати вам Царство.	Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
33	33
Продайте майно ваше і роздайте милостиню. Зробіть собі гамани, що не старіють, і скарб, що не зменшується на небесах, куди злодій не наближається і де міль не точить.	Sell that which ye have, and give alms; make for yourselves purses which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief draweth near, neither moth destroyeth.

Бо де скарб ваш, там і серце ваше буде.	For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
35	35
Нехай будуть стегна ваші підперезані і світильники засвічені.	Let your loins be girded about, and your lamps burning;
36	36
І ви будьте подібні до людей, які чекають повернення господаря свого з весілля, щоб, коли прийде і постукає, негайно відчинити йому.	and be ye yourselves like unto men looking for their lord, when he shall return from the marriage feast; that, when he cometh and knocketh, they may straightaway open unto him.
37	37
Блаженні ті раби, господар яких, прийшовши, знайде, що пильнують вони. Істинно говорю вам, що він підпережеться і посадить їх та, підійшовши, послужить їм.	Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them sit down to meat, and shall come and serve them.

І якщо прийде у другу сторожу, і в третю сторожу прийде, і знайде їх так, то блаженні ті раби.	And if he shall come in the second watch, and come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.
39	39
Знайте, що, коли б відав господар дому о якій годині прийде злодій, то пильнував би і не дав би підкопати дому свого.	But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what hour the thief was coming, he would have watched, and not have left his house to be broken through.
40	40
Будьте ж і ви готові, бо в яку годину і не гадаєте, прийде Син Людський.	Be ye therefore ready also: for in an hour that ye think not the Son of man cometh.
41	41
Тоді сказав Йому Петро: Господи, нам притчу цю говориш чи всім?	And Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even unto all?
42	42
Господь же сказав: хто вірний і мудрий управитель, якого господар поставив над слугами своїми роздавати їм своєчасно міру хліба?	And the Lord said, Who then is the faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall set over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season?
43	43
Блаженний раб той, господар якого, прийшовши, знайде, що він чинить так.	Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
44	44
Істинно кажу вам: над усім маєтком своїм поставить його.	Of a truth I say unto you, that he will set him over all that he hath.
45	45
Якщо ж раб той в серці своїм скаже: не скоро господар мій прийде, і почне бити слуг та служниць, їсти і пити та упиватися, —	But if that servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and the maidservants, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;
46	46
то прийде господар раба того у день, коли він не сподівається, і в годину, якої не відає, і розітне його, і визначить йому долю з невірними.	the lord of that servant shall come in a day when he expecteth not, and in an hour when he knoweth not, and shall cut him asunder, and appoint his portion with the unfaithful.
47	47
Раб же той, який знав волю господаря свого, та не був готовий і не робив за волею його, буде багато битий.	And that servant, who knew his lord’s will, and made not ready, nor did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes;
48	48
А той, хто не знав і зробив щось гідне покарання, буде битий менше. Від усякого, кому дано багато, багато й вимагається, і кому багато довірено, з того більше й спитають.	but he that knew not, and did things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. And to whomsoever much is given, of him shall much be required: and to whom they commit much, of him will they ask the more.

Я прийшов вогонь звести на землю, і як хотів би, щоб він уже запалав!	I came to cast fire to the earth; and what do I desire, if it is already kindled?
50	50
Хрещенням маю Я хреститися; і як Я втримаюся, поки це здійсниться!	But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!
51	51
Чи думаєте ви, що Я прийшов дати мир землі? Ні, кажу вам, а розділення.	Think ye that I am come to give peace in the earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:
52	52
Бо віднині п’ятеро в одному домі розділені: троє проти двох, і двоє проти трьох.	for there shall be from henceforth five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.
53	53
Розділиться батько з сином, і син з батьком; мати з дочкою, і дочка з матір’ю; свекруха з невісткою своєю, і невістка з свекрухою своєю.	Father shall be divided against son, and son against father; mother against daughter, and daughter against her mother; mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.

Сказав же і до народу: коли ви побачите хмару, що йде із заходу, то відразу говорите: дощ буде, і буває так.	And he said to the multitudes also, When ye see a cloud rising out of the west, straightaway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it cometh to pass.
55	55
І коли віє південний вітер, говорите: спека буде, і буває.	And when ye see a south wind blowing, ye say, There will be a scorching heat; and it cometh to pass.

Лицеміри! Лице неба і землі розпізнавати умієте; як же час цей не розпізнаєте?	Ye hypocrites, ye know how to interpret the face of the earth and the heaven; but how is it that ye do not interpret this time?
57	57
Чому ж ви і по собі не судите, що є справедливе?	And why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?
58	58
Коли ти йдеш з супротивником своїм до правителя, то дорогою подбай, щоб звільнитися від нього, щоб він не притяг тебе до судді, а суддя не віддав тебе слузі, а слуга не посадив би тебе до в’язниці.	For as thou art going with thine adversary before the magistrate, on the way give diligence to be quit of him; lest haply he drag thee unto the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison.
59	59
Кажу тобі: не вийдеш звідти, аж поки не віддаси й останнього гроша.	I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou have paid the very last mite.
