|
| Desire not a multitude of unprofitable children, neither delight in ungodly sons. | Не бажай багато негідних дітей і не радій за синів нечестивих. Коли вони примножуються, не радій за них, якщо немає у них страху Господнього. |

| Though they multiply, rejoice not in them, except the fear of the Lord be with them. | Не надійся на їх життя і не спирайся на їх кількість. |

|
| Trust not thou in their life, neither respect their multitude: for one that is just is better than a thousand; and better it is to die without children, than to have them that are ungodly. | Краще один праведник, ніж тисяча грішників, |

| For by one that hath understanding shall the city be replenished: but the kindred of the wicked shall speedily become desolate. | і краще померти бездітним, ніж мати дітей нечестивих, |

|
| Many such things have I seen with mine eyes, and mine ear hath heard greater things than these. | бо від одного розумного населиться місто, а плем’я беззаконних спустіє. |

|
| In the congregation of the ungodly shall a fire be kindled; and in a rebellious nation wrath is set on fire. | Багато такого бачило око моє, і ще більше того чуло вухо моє. |

| He was not pacified toward the old giants, who fell away in the strength of their foolishness. | У збіговиську грішників запалає вогонь, як і у народі непокірливому запалювався гнів. |

|
| Neither spared he the place where Lot sojourned, but abhorred them for their pride. | Не умилостивився Він над древніми велетнями, які у надії на силу свою зробилися відступниками; |

|
| He pitied not the people of perdition, who were taken away in their sins: | не пощадив тих, що жили в одному місці з Лотом, якими погребував за їхню гордість; |

|
| nor the six hundred thousand footmen, who were gathered together in the hardness of their hearts. | не помилував народу погибельного, який пишався гріхами своїми, |

|
| And if there be one stiffnecked among the people, it is marvel if he escape unpunished: for mercy and wrath are with him; he is mighty to forgive and to pour out displeasure. | так само як і шістсот тисяч чоловік, які об’єдналися у жорстокосерді своєму. І хоч би й один був непокірливий, було б дивно, якби він залишився непокараним; |

| As his mercy is great, so is his correction also: he judgeth a man according to his works. | бо і милість і гнів — у владі Його: сильний Він помилувати і вилити гнів. |

| The sinner shall not escape with his spoils: and the patience of the godly shall not be frustrate. | Як велика милість Його, так велике і викриття Його. Він судить людину за ділами її. |
|

|
| Make way for every work of mercy: for every man shall find according to his works. | Не втече від Нього грішник з украденим, і терпіння благочестивого не залишиться марним. |
|

|
| Say not thou, I will hide myself from the Lord: shall any remember me from above? I shall not be remembered among so many people: for what is my soul among such an infinite number of creatures? | У великій кількості народу мене не помітять; бо що душа моя у безмежному створінні? |

|
| Behold, the heaven, and the heaven of heavens, the deep, and the earth, and all that therein is, shall be moved when he shall visit. | Ось, небо і небо небес — Боже, безодня і земля коливаються від відвідання Його. |

|
| The mountains also and foundations of the earth shall be shaken with trembling, when he looketh upon them. | Однаково ж трясуться від страху гори й основи землі, коли Він споглядає. |

|
| No heart can think upon these things worthily: and who is able to conceive his ways? | І цього не може зрозуміти серце; |

|
| It is a tempest which no man can see: for the most part of his works are hid. | а путі Його хто осягне? Як вітер, якого людина не може бачити, так і більша частина діл Його прихована. |

|
| Who can declare the works of his justice? or who can endure them? for his covenant is afar off. | Хто звістить про діла правосуддя Його? або хто буде очікувати їх? бо далеко це визначення». |

| He that wanteth understanding will think upon vain things: and a foolish man erring imagineth follies. | Убогий розумом думає так, і людина нерозумна і той, хто в омані, розмірковує так нерозумно. |

| My son, hearken unto me, and learn knowledge, and mark my words with thy heart. | Слухай мене, сину мій, і вчися знання, і слухай серцем твоїм слова мої. |

| I will shew forth doctrine in weight, and declare his knowledge exactly. | Я показую тобі вчення обмірковане і передаю знання точне. |

|
| The works of the Lord are done in judgment from the beginning: and from the time he made them he disposed the parts thereof. | За визначенням Господа діла Його від початку, і від створення їх Він розділив частини їх. |

|
| He garnished his works for ever, and the chief of them unto all generations: they neither labour, nor are weary, nor cease from their works. | Навіки влаштував Він діла Свої, і початки їх — у роди їх. Вони не голодніють, не стомлюються і не припиняють своїх дій. |

| None of them hindereth another, and they shall never disobey his word. | Жодне не гнітить близького йому, |

|
| After this the Lord looked upon the earth, and filled it with his blessings. | і повіки не стануть вони проти слова Його. |
|

|
| With all manner of living things hath he covered the face thereof; and they shall return into it again. | І потім споглянув Господь на землю і наповнив її Своїми благами. |
