Of these things be not thou ashamed, and accept no person to sin thereby:

Не соромся ось чого, і з лицемірности не гріши:

of the law of the most High, and his covenant; and of judgment to justify the ungodly;

не соромся точного виконання закону Всевишнього і завіту, і суду, щоб учинити правосуддя нечестивому,

|
|
of reckoning with thy partners and travellers; or of the gift of the heritage of friends;
|
суперечки між товаришем і сторонніми і надання спадщини друзям,
|
|

|
|
of exactness of balance and weights; or of getting much or little;
|
точности у вазі і мірах, — чи багато, чи мало придбаєш, —
|
|

|

|
|
and of merchants' indifferent selling; of much correction of children; and to make the side of an evil servant to bleed.
|
неупереджености у купівлі і продажу і суворого виховання дітей, і — скривавити ребро злому рабові.
|
|

|
|
Sure keeping is good, where an evil wife is; and locked up, where many hands are.
|
При злій дружині добре мати печатку, і, де багато рук, там замикай.
|
|

|
|
Deliver all things in number and weight; and put all in writing that thou givest out, or receivest in.
|
Коли щось видаєш, видавай за рахунком і вагою і роби всяку видачу і приймання за записом.

|
|
Be not ashamed to inform the unwise and foolish, and the extreme aged that contendeth with those that are young: thus shalt thou be truly learned, and approved of all men living.
|
Не соромся напоумляти нерозумного і дурного, і старого, який змагається з молодими: і будеш істинно благовихованим і заслужиш схвалення від усякої людини.

A daughter is a wakeful care to a father; and the care for her taketh away sleep: when she is young, lest she pass away the flower of her age; and being married, lest she should be hated:

Дочка для батька — таємна постійна турбота, і піклування про неї відганяє сон: у юності її — як би не відцвіла, а у заміжжі — як би не стала гидкою;

in her virginity, lest she should be defiled and gotten with child in her father's house; and having an husband, lest she should misbehave herself; and when she is married, lest she should be barren.
|
у дівоцтві — як би не осквернилася і не зробилася вагітною у батьківському домі, у заміжжі — щоб не порушила подружньої вірности й у співжитті з чоловіком не залишилася неплідною.

Keep a sure watch over a shameless daughter, lest she make thee a laughingstock to thine enemies, and a byword in the city, and a reproach among the people, and make thee ashamed before the multitude.
|
Над безсоромною дочкою посиль нагляд, щоб вона не зробила тебе посміховиськом для ворогів, притчею у місті і докором у народі й не осоромила тебе перед громадою.

Behold not everybody's beauty, and sit not in the midst of women.
|
Не дивися на красу людини і не сиди серед жінок:

For from garments cometh a moth, and from women wickedness.

бо як з одягу виходить міль, так від жінки — лукавство жіноче.

|
Better is the churlishness of a man than a courteous woman, a woman, I say, which bringeth shame and reproach.

Краще злий чоловік, ніж ласкава жінка, — жінка, яка соромить до ганьблення.

|
I will now remember the works of the Lord, and declare the things that I have seen: In the words of the Lord are his works.

Згадаю тепер про діла Господа і розповім про те, що я бачив. За словом Господа явилися діла Його:

|
The sun that giveth light looketh upon all things, and the work thereof is full of the glory of the Lord.
|
осяйне сонце дивиться на усе, і всі діла його повні слави Господньої.

|
The Lord hath not given power to the saints to declare all his marvellous works, which the Almighty Lord firmly settled, that whatsoever is might be established for his glory.
|
І святим не надав Господь провіщати про усі чудеса Його, які утвердив Господь Вседержитель, щоб вселенна стояла твердо на славу Його.

|
He seeketh out the deep, and the heart, and considereth their crafty devices: for the Lord knoweth all that can be known, and he beholdeth the signs of the world,

Він проникає у безодню і серце і бачить усі звивини їх; бо Господь знає усяке відання і прозирає знання віку,
|
|

|
|
declaring the things that are past, and for to come, and revealing the steps of hidden things.
|
звіщаючи минуле і майбутнє і відкриваючи сліди потаємного;
|
|

|
|
No thought escapeth him, neither any word is hidden from him.
|
не оминає Його ніяка думка і не утаїться від Нього жодне слово.
|
|

|
|
He hath garnished the excellent works of his wisdom, and he is from everlasting to everlasting: unto him may nothing be added, neither can he be diminished, and he hath no need of any counsellor.
|
Він улаштував великі діла Своєї премудрости і перебуває раніше віку і повік;
|
|

|
|
Oh how desirable are all his works! and that a man may see even to a spark.
|
Він не збільшився і не зменшився і не потребував ніякого радника.
|
|

|
|
All these things live and remain for ever for all uses, and they are all obedient.
|
Як жадані усі діла Його, хоча ми можемо бачити їх як тільки іскри!
|
|

|
|
All things are double one against another: and he hath made nothing imperfect.
|
Усі вони живуть і перебувають повік для усяких потреб і всі підкорюються Йому.
|
|

|
|
One thing establisheth the good of another: and who shall be filled with beholding his glory?
|
Усі вони — удвічі, одне навпроти одного, і нічого не створив Він недосконалим:
