|
Не бажай багато негідних дітей і не радій за синів нечестивих. Коли вони примножуються, не радій за них, якщо немає у них страху Господнього.
|
Desire not a multitude of unprofitable children, neither delight in ungodly sons.
|

|
Не надійся на їх життя і не спирайся на їх кількість.
|
Though they multiply, rejoice not in them, except the fear of the Lord be with them.
|
|

|
|
Краще один праведник, ніж тисяча грішників,
|
Trust not thou in their life, neither respect their multitude: for one that is just is better than a thousand; and better it is to die without children, than to have them that are ungodly.
|

|
|
і краще померти бездітним, ніж мати дітей нечестивих,
|
For by one that hath understanding shall the city be replenished: but the kindred of the wicked shall speedily become desolate.
|

|
|
бо від одного розумного населиться місто, а плем’я беззаконних спустіє.
|
Many such things have I seen with mine eyes, and mine ear hath heard greater things than these.
|
|

|
|
Багато такого бачило око моє, і ще більше того чуло вухо моє.
|
In the congregation of the ungodly shall a fire be kindled; and in a rebellious nation wrath is set on fire.
|
|

|
|
У збіговиську грішників запалає вогонь, як і у народі непокірливому запалювався гнів.
|
He was not pacified toward the old giants, who fell away in the strength of their foolishness.
|
|

|
|
Не умилостивився Він над древніми велетнями, які у надії на силу свою зробилися відступниками;
|
Neither spared he the place where Lot sojourned, but abhorred them for their pride.
|
|

|
|
не пощадив тих, що жили в одному місці з Лотом, якими погребував за їхню гордість;
|
He pitied not the people of perdition, who were taken away in their sins:
|
|

|
|
не помилував народу погибельного, який пишався гріхами своїми,
|
nor the six hundred thousand footmen, who were gathered together in the hardness of their hearts.
|
|

|
|
так само як і шістсот тисяч чоловік, які об’єдналися у жорстокосерді своєму. І хоч би й один був непокірливий, було б дивно, якби він залишився непокараним;
|
And if there be one stiffnecked among the people, it is marvel if he escape unpunished: for mercy and wrath are with him; he is mighty to forgive and to pour out displeasure.

|
бо і милість і гнів — у владі Його: сильний Він помилувати і вилити гнів.
|
As his mercy is great, so is his correction also: he judgeth a man according to his works.
|
|

|
|
Як велика милість Його, так велике і викриття Його. Він судить людину за ділами її.
|
The sinner shall not escape with his spoils: and the patience of the godly shall not be frustrate.
|
|

|
|
Не втече від Нього грішник з украденим, і терпіння благочестивого не залишиться марним.
|
Make way for every work of mercy: for every man shall find according to his works.
|
|

|

|
|
Усякій милостині Він дасть місце, кожен одержить за ділами своїми.
|
Say not thou, I will hide myself from the Lord: shall any remember me from above? I shall not be remembered among so many people: for what is my soul among such an infinite number of creatures?
|

|
|
Не говори: «я сховаюся від Господа; невже з висоти хтось згадає про мене?
|
Behold, the heaven, and the heaven of heavens, the deep, and the earth, and all that therein is, shall be moved when he shall visit.
|
|

|
|
У великій кількості народу мене не помітять; бо що душа моя у безмежному створінні?
|
The mountains also and foundations of the earth shall be shaken with trembling, when he looketh upon them.
|
|
18
|
20
|
|
Ось, небо і небо небес — Боже, безодня і земля коливаються від відвідання Його.
|
No heart can think upon these things worthily: and who is able to conceive his ways?
|
|
19
|
21
|
|
Однаково ж трясуться від страху гори й основи землі, коли Він споглядає.
|
It is a tempest which no man can see: for the most part of his works are hid.
|
|
20
|
22
|
|
І цього не може зрозуміти серце;
|
Who can declare the works of his justice? or who can endure them? for his covenant is afar off.
|
|

|

|
|
а путі Його хто осягне? Як вітер, якого людина не може бачити, так і більша частина діл Його прихована.
|
He that wanteth understanding will think upon vain things: and a foolish man erring imagineth follies.
|
|

|

|
|
Хто звістить про діла правосуддя Його? або хто буде очікувати їх? бо далеко це визначення».
|
My son, hearken unto me, and learn knowledge, and mark my words with thy heart.
|
|

|
|
Убогий розумом думає так, і людина нерозумна і той, хто в омані, розмірковує так нерозумно.
|
I will shew forth doctrine in weight, and declare his knowledge exactly.
|
|

|
|
Слухай мене, сину мій, і вчися знання, і слухай серцем твоїм слова мої.
|
The works of the Lord are done in judgment from the beginning: and from the time he made them he disposed the parts thereof.
|
|

|

|
|
Я показую тобі вчення обмірковане і передаю знання точне.
|
He garnished his works for ever, and the chief of them unto all generations: they neither labour, nor are weary, nor cease from their works.
|
|

|
|
За визначенням Господа діла Його від початку, і від створення їх Він розділив частини їх.
|
None of them hindereth another, and they shall never disobey his word.
|
|
27
|
29
|
|
Навіки влаштував Він діла Свої, і початки їх — у роди їх. Вони не голодніють, не стомлюються і не припиняють своїх дій.
|
After this the Lord looked upon the earth, and filled it with his blessings.
|
|

|

|
|
Жодне не гнітить близького йому,
|
With all manner of living things hath he covered the face thereof; and they shall return into it again.
|
|
29
|
|
|
і повіки не стануть вони проти слова Його.
|
|
|
30
|
|
|
І потім споглянув Господь на землю і наповнив її Своїми благами.
|
|
|
31
|
|
|
Душа усього, що живе, покрила лице її, і у неї все повернеться.
|
