| Усі ці з’єдналися в долині Сиддим, де нині море Солоне. | All these met with one consent at the salt valley; this is now the sea of salt. |

| Дванадцять років були вони в неволі у Кедорлаомера, а на тринадцятий рік обурилися. | Twelve years they served Chodollogomor, and the thirteenth year they revolted. |

| В чотирнадцятому році прийшли Кедорлаомер і царі, що з ним, й уразили рефаїмів в Аштероф-Карнаїмі, зузимів у Гамі, емимів у Шаве-Кириафаїмі, | And in the fourteenth year came Chodollogomor, and the kings with him, and cut to pieces the giants in Astaroth, and Carnain, and strong nations with them, and the Ommæans in the city Save. |

| І повернувшись звідти, вони прийшли до джерела Мишпат, що є Кадес, і завоювали всю країну амаликитян, і також аморреїв, що живуть у Хацацон-Фамарі. | And having turned back they came to the well of judgment; this is Cades, and they cut in pieces all the princes of Amalec, and the Amorites dwelling in Asasonthamar. |

| В долині ж Сиддим було багато смоляних ям. І царі Содомський і Гоморрський, утікаючи, упали в них, а останні втекли в гори. | Now the salt valley consists of slime-pits. And the king of Sodom fled and the king of Gomorrha, and they fell in there: and they that were left fled to the mountain country. |

| Переможці взяли все майно Содома і Гоморри і весь запас їх і пішли. | And they took all the cavalry of Sodom and Gomorrha, and all their provisions, and departed. |

| І взяли Лота, племінника Аврамового, який жив у Содомі, і майно його і пішли. | And they took also Lot the son of Abram's brother, and his baggage, and departed, for he dwelt in Sodom. |

| І прийшов один з тих, хто уцілів, і сповістив Аврама єврея, який жив тоді біля діброви Мамре, аморреянина, брата Ешколу і брата Анеру, які були союзниками Аврамовими. | And one of them that had been rescued came and told Abram the Hebrew; and he dwelt by the oak of Mamre the Amorite the brother of Eschol, and the brother of Aunan, who were confederates with Abram. |

| Аврам, почувши, що [Лот] родич його узятий у полон, озброїв рабів своїх, і народжених у домі його, триста вісімнадцять, і переслідував ворогів до Дана; | And Abram having heard that Lot his nephew had been taken captive, numbered his own home-born servants three hundred and eighteen, and pursued after them to Dan. |

| і, розділившись, напав на них уночі, сам і раби його, і подолав їх, і переслідував їх до Хови, що ліворуч від Дамаска; | And he came upon them by night, he and his servants, and he smote them and pursued them as far as Choba, which is on the left of Damascus. |

| і повернув усе майно і Лота, родича свого, і майно його повернув, також і жінок і народ. | And he recovered all the cavalry of Sodom, and he recovered Lot his nephew, and all his possessions, and the women and the people. |

| Коли він повертався після поразки Кедорлаомера і царів, що були з ним, цар Содомський вийшов йому назустріч у долину Шаве, що нині долина царська; | And the king of Sodom went out to meet him, after he returned from the slaughter of Chodollogomor, and the kings with him, to the valley of Saby; this was the plain of the kings. |

| і Мелхиседек, цар Салимський, виніс хліб і вино, — він був священик Бога Всевишнього, — | And Melchisedec king of Salem brought forth loaves and wine, and he was the priest of the most high God. |

| і благословив його, і сказав: благословенний Аврам від Бога Всевишнього, Владики неба і землі; | And he blessed Abram, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, who made heaven and earth, |

| і благословенний Бог Всевишній, Який віддав ворогів твоїх у руки твої. [Аврам] дав йому десяту частину з усього. | and blessed be the most high God who delivered thine enemies into thy power. And Abram gave him the tithe of all. |

| І сказав цар Содомський Авраму: віддай мені людей, а майно візьми собі. | And the king of Sodom said to Abram, Give me the men, and take the horses to thyself. |
|

| Але Аврам сказав цареві Содомському: піднімаю руку мою до Господа Бога Всевишнього, Владики неба і землі, | And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I will stretch out my hand to the Lord the most high God, who made the heaven and the earth, |

| що навіть нитки і ременя від взуття не візьму з усього твого, щоб ти не сказав: я збагатив Аврама; | that I will not take from all thy goods from a string to a shoe-latchet, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich. |
|

|
| крім того, що з’їли слуги, і, крім частки, що належить людям, які ходили зі мною; Анер, Ешкол і Мамрій нехай візьмуть свою частку. | Except what things the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men that went with me, Eschol, Aunan, Mambre, these shall take a portion. |
