| Притчі Соломона. Син мудрий радує батька, а син нерозумний — засмучення для його матері. | A wise son makes his father glad: but a foolish son is a grief to his mother. |

| Не приносять користи скарби неправедні, правда ж рятує від смерти. | Treasures shall not profit the lawless: but righteousness shall deliver from death. |
|

|
| Не допустить Господь терпіти голод душі праведного, надбання ж нечестивих вивергне. | The Lord will not famish a righteous soul: but he will overthrow the life of the ungodly. |
|

|
| Лінива рука робить бідним, а рука старанна збагачує. | Poverty brings a man low: but the hands of the vigorous make rich. |
|

|
| Хто збирає влітку — син розумний, а хто спить під час жнив — син безпутний. | A wise son is saved from heat: but a lawless son is blighted of the winds in harvest. |
|

|
| Благословення — на голові праведника, вуста ж беззаконних загородить насильство. | The blessing of the Lord is upon the head of the just: but untimely grief shall cover the mouth of the ungodly. |
|

| Пам’ять праведника буде благословенна, а ім’я нечестивих мерзотним. | The memory of the just is praised; but the name of the ungodly man is extinguished. |
|

| Мудрий серцем приймає заповіді, а нерозумний устами спотикнеться. | A wise man in heart will receive commandments; but he that is unguarded in his lips shall be overthrown in his perverseness. |
|

|
| Хто ходить у непорочності, той ходить безпечно; а хто спотворює путі свої, той буде покараний. | He that walks simply, walks confidently; but he that perverts his ways shall be known. |
|

|
| Хто мигає очима, той викликає досаду, а нерозумний устами спотикнеться. | He that winks with his eyes deceitfully, procures griefs for men; but he that reproves boldly is a peacemaker. |
|

| Вуста праведника — джерело життя, вуста ж беззаконних загородить насильство. | There is a fountain of life in the hand of a righteous man; but destruction shall cover the mouth of the ungodly. |
|

| Ненависть збуджує розбрати, але любов покриває всі гріхи. | Hatred stirs up strife; but affection covers all that do not love strife. |
|

|
| У вустах розумного знаходиться мудрість, але на тілі нерозумного — різка. | He that brings forth wisdom from his lips smites the fool with a rod. |
|

|
| Мудрі зберігають знання, але вуста нерозумного — близька загибель. | The wise will hide discretion; but the mouth of the hasty draws near to ruin. |
|

|
| Майно багатого — міцне місто його, біда для бідних — убогість їх. | The wealth of rich men is a strong city; but poverty is the ruin of the ungodly. |
|

|
| Труди праведного — до життя, успіх нечестивого — до гріха. | The works of the righteous produce life; but the fruits of the ungodly produce sins. |
|

|
| Хто зберігає настановлення, той на путі до життя; а той, хто відкидає викривання, — блукає. | Instruction keeps the right ways of life; but instruction unchastened goes astray. |
|

|
| Хто приховує ненависть, у того вуста неправдиві; і хто розголошує наклепи, той нерозумний. | Righteous lips cover enmity; but they that utter railings are most foolish. |
|

|
| При багатослів’ї не минути гріха, а той, хто стримує вуста свої, — розумний. | By a multitude of words thou shalt not escape sin; but if thou refrain thy lips thou wilt be prudent. |
|

|
| Добірне срібло — язик праведного, серце ж нечестивих — нікчемність. | The tongue of the just is tried silver; but the heart of the ungodly shall fail. |
|

|
| Уста праведного пасуть багатьох, а нерозумні помирають від нестачі розуму. | The lips of the righteous know sublime truths: but the foolish die in want. |
|

|
| Благословення Господнє — воно збагачує і печалі з собою не приносить. | The blessing of the Lord is upon the head of the righteous; it enriches him, and grief of heart shall not be added to it. |
|

|
| Для нерозумного злочинне діяння ніби забава, а людині розумній властива мудрість. | A fool does mischief in sport; but wisdom brings forth prudence for a man. |
|

|
| Чого страшиться нечестивий, те й осягне його, а бажання праведників виконається. | The ungodly is engulphed in destruction; but the desire of the righteous is acceptable. |
|

|
| Як проноситься вихор, так немає більше нечестивого; а праведник — на вічній основі. | When the storm passes by, the ungodly vanishes away; but the righteous turns aside and escapes for ever. |
|

|
| Що оцет для зубів і дим для очей, те лінивий для тих, хто посилає його. | As a sour grape is hurtful to the teeth, and smoke to the eyes, so iniquity hurts those that practise it. |
|

|
| Страх Господній додає днів, літа ж нечестивих скоротяться. | The fear of the Lord adds length of days: but the years of the ungodly shall be shortened. |
|

|
| Очікування праведників — радість, а надія нечестивих загине. | Joy rests long with the righteous: but the hope of the ungodly shall perish. |
|

|
| Путь Господня — твердиня для непорочного і страх для тих, що чинять беззаконня. | The fear of the Lord is a strong hold of the saints: but ruin comes to them that work wickedness. |
|

|
| Праведник повіки не завагається, нечестиві ж не будуть жити на землі. | The righteous shall never fail: but the ungodly shall not dwell in the earth. |
|

|
| Вуста праведника виточують мудрість, а язик зловредний відсічеться. | The mouth of the righteous drops wisdom: but the tongue of the unjust shall perish. |
|

|
| Вуста праведного знають благоприємне, а вуста нечестивих — розбещене. | The lips of just men drop grace: but the mouth of the ungodly is perverse. |
