| [Гнів губить і розумних.] Лагідна відповідь відвертає гнів, а образливе слово збуджує лють. | Anger slays even wise men; yet a submissive answer turns away wrath: but a grievous word stirs up anger. |

| Язик мудрих сповіщає добрі знання, а вуста нерозумних вивергають дурість. | The tongue of the wise knows what is good: but the mouth of the foolish tells out evil things. |

| На всякому місці очі Господні: вони бачать злих і добрих. | The eyes of the Lord behold both the evil and the good in every place. |
|

|
| Лагідний язик — древо життя, але неприборканий — печаль духу. | The wholesome tongue is a tree of life, and he that keeps it shall be filled with understanding. |
|

|
| Нерозумний нехтує наставляння батька свого; а хто прислуховується до викривань, той розважливий. [У багатстві правди велика сила, а нечестиві викоріняться з землі.] | A fool scorns his father's instruction: but he that keeps his commandments is more prudent. In abounding righteousness is great strength: but the ungodly shall utterly perish from the earth. |

| У домі праведника — достаток скарбів, а у прибутку нечестивого — безладдя. | In the houses of the righteous is much strength: but the fruits of the ungodly shall perish. |
|

| Вуста мудрих поширюють знання, а серце нерозумних не так. | The lips of the wise are bound by discretion: but the hearts of the foolish are not safe. |
|

|
| Жертва нечестивих — мерзота перед Господом, а молитва праведних благоугодна Йому. | The sacrifices of the ungodly are an abomination to the Lord; but the prayers of them that walk honestly are acceptable with him. |
|

| Мерзота перед Господом — путь нечестивого, а того, хто йде шляхом правди, Він любить. | The ways of an ungodly man are an abomination to the Lord; but he loves those that follow after righteousness. |
|

| Зле покарання — тому, хто ухиляється від путі, і той, хто ненавидить викриття, загине. | The instruction of the simple is known by them that pass by; but they that hate reproofs die disgracefully. |
|

|
| Пекло й Аваддон відкриті перед Господом, тим більше серця синів людських. | Hell and destruction are manifest to the Lord; how shall not also be the hearts of men? |
|

| Не любить розпусний тих, хто викриває його, і до мудрих не піде. | An uninstructed person will not love those that reprove him; neither will he associate with the wise. |
|

|
| Веселе серце робить лице веселим, а при сердечній печалі дух занепадає. | When the heart rejoices the countenance is cheerful; but when it is in sorrow, the countenance is sad. |
|

| Серце розумного шукає знання, вуста ж дурних споживають глупство. | An upright heart seeks discretion; but the mouth of the uninstructed will experience evils. |
|

|
| Усі дні нещасного сумні; а в кого серце веселе, у того завжди бенкет. | The eyes of the wicked are always looking for evil things; but the good are always quiet. |
|

| Краще небагато зі страхом Господнім, ніж великий скарб, і при ньому тривога. | Better is a small portion with the fear of the Lord, than great treasures without the fear of the Lord. |
|

| Краще блюдо зелені, і при ньому любов, ніж відгодований бик, і при ньому ненависть. | Better is an entertainment of herbs with friendliness and kindness, than a feast of calves, with enmity. |
|

|
| Запальна людина збуджує розбрат, а терпляча утишує незгоду. | A passionate man stirs up strife; but he that is slow to anger appeases even a rising one. |
|

|
| Шлях лінивого — як терновий пліт, а путь праведних — гладенька. | The ways of sluggards are strewn with thorns; but those of the diligent are made smooth. |
|

|
| Мудрий син радує батька, а нерозумна людина зневажає матір свою. | A wise son gladdens his father; but a foolish son sneers at his mother. |
|

|
| Глупота — радість для недоумкуватого, а людина розумна йде прямою дорогою. | The ways of a foolish man are void of sense; but a wise man proceeds on his way aright. |
|

| Без ради розпочаті діла зруйнуються, а з великою кількістю радників вони відбудуться. | They that honour not councils put off deliberation; but counsel abides in the hearts of counsellors. |

| Радість людині у відповіді вуст її, і як добре слово вчасне! | A bad man will by no means attend to counsel; neither will he say anything seasonable, or good for the common weal. |
|

| Путь життя мудрого вгору, щоб ухилитися від пекла внизу. | The thoughts of the wise are ways of life, that he may turn aside and escape from hell. |
|

| Дім гордовитих розорить Господь, а межу вдови укріпить. | The Lord pulls down the houses of scorners; but he establishes the border of the widow. |
|

|
| Мерзота перед Господом — думки злих, слова ж непорочних угодні Йому. | An unrighteous thought is abomination to the Lord; but the sayings of the pure are held in honour. |
|

|
| Корисливий розладнає дім свій, а той, хто ненавидить подарунки, буде жити. | A receiver of bribes destroys himself; but he that hates the receiving of bribes is safe. |
|

|
| Серце праведного обмірковує відповідь, а вуста нечестивих вивергають зло. [Приємні перед Господом путі праведних; через них і вороги стають друзями.] | The hearts of the righteous meditate faithfulness; but the mouth of the ungodly answers evil things. |
|

| Далекий Господь від нечестивих, а молитву праведників чує. | God is far from the ungodly; but he hearkens to the prayers of the righteous. |
|

|
| Світлий погляд радує серце, добра звістка зміцнює кістки. | The eye that sees rightly rejoices the heart; and a good report fattens the bones. |
|

| Вухо, уважне до вчення життя, перебуває між мудрими. | |
|

|
| Хто відкидає наставляння, той не дбає про свою душу; а хто слухає викривання, той набуває розуму. | He that rejects instruction hates himself; but he that minds reproofs loves his soul. |
|

|
| Страх Господній навчає мудрости, і славі передує смирення. | The fear of the Lord is instruction and wisdom; and the highest honour will correspond therewith. |
