|
| Мудра дружина влаштує дім свій, а нерозумна зруйнує його своїми руками. | Wise women build houses: but a foolish one digs hers down with her hands. |

| Хто йде прямим шляхом, боїться Господа; а чиї шляхи криві, той нехтує Його. | He that walks uprightly fears the Lord; but he that is perverse in his ways shall be dishonoured. |
|

|
| У вустах нерозумного — бич гордости; вуста ж мудрих охороняють їх. | Out of the mouth of fools comes a rod of pride; but the lips of the wise preserve them. |
|

|
| Де немає волів, там ясла порожні; а багато прибутку від сили волів. | Where no oxen are, the cribs are clean; but where there is abundant produce, the strength of the ox is apparent. |
|

|
| Вірний свідок не обманює, а свідок неправдивий наговорить багато неправди. | A faithful witness does not lie; but an unjust witness kindles falsehoods. |
|

|
| Розпусний шукає мудрости, і не знаходить; а для розумного знання легке. | Thou shalt seek wisdom with bad men, and shalt not find it; but discretion is easily available with the prudent. |

|
| Відійди від чоловіка нерозумного, у якого ти не помічаєш розумних уст. | All things are adverse to a foolish man; but wise lips are the weapons of discretion. |
|

|
| Мудрість розумного — знання путі своєї, глупство ж безрозсудних — омана. | The wisdom of the prudent will understand their ways; but the folly of fools leads astray. |
|

|
| Нерозумні глузують з гріха, а серед праведних — благовоління. | The houses of transgressors will need purification; but the houses of the just are acceptable. |
|

|
| Серце знає горе душі своєї, і в радість його не втрутиться чужий. | If a man's mind is intelligent, his soul is sorrowful; and when he rejoices, he has no fellowship with pride. |
|

|
| Дім беззаконних зруйнується, а житло праведних розквітне. | The houses of ungodly men shall be utterly destroyed; but the tabernacles of them that walk uprightly shall stand. |
|

|
| Є шляхи, які здаються людині прямими; але кінець їх — дорога до смерти. | There is a way which seems to be right with men, but the ends of it reach to the depth of hell. |
|

|
| І під час сміху іноді болить серце, і кінцем радости буває печаль. | Grief mingles not with mirth; and joy in the end comes to grief. |
|

|
| Людина з розбещеним серцем насититься від шляхів своїх, і добра — від своїх. | A stout-hearted man shall be filled with his own ways; and a good man with his own thoughts. |
|

|
| Нерозумний вірить усякому слову, розсудливий же уважний до шляхів своїх. | The simple believes every word: but the prudent man betakes himself to after-thought. |
|

|
| Мудрий боїться і віддаляється від зла, а нерозумний дратівливий і самовпевнений. | A wise man fears, and departs from evil; but the fool trusts in himself, and joins himself with the transgressor. |
|

|
| Запальний може зробити дурість; але людина, яка навмисне чинить зло, ненависна. | A passionate man acts inconsiderately; but a sensible man bears up under many things. |
|

|
| Невігласи одержують у частку собі глупоту, а розсудливі увінчаються знанням. | Fools shall have mischief for their portion; but the prudent shall take fast hold of understanding. |
|

|
| Схиляться злі перед добрими і нечестиві — біля воріт праведника. | Evil men shall fall before the good; and the ungodly shall attend at the gates of the righteous. |
|

|
| Бідний ненавидимим буває навіть близькими своїми, а в багатого багато друзів. | Friends will hate poor friends; but the friends of the rich are many. |
|

|
| Хто з презирством ставиться до ближнього свого, той грішить; а хто милосердний до бідних, той блаженний. | He that dishonours the needy sins: but he that has pity on the poor is most blessed. |
|

|
| Чи не помиляються ті, що замишляють зло? [не знають милости і вірности ті, що чинять зло;] але милість і вірність у благомислячих. | They that go astray devise evils: but the good devise mercy and truth. The framers of evil do not understand mercy and truth: but compassion and faithfulness are with the framers of good. |

| Від усякої праці є прибуток, а від марнослів’я тільки збиток. | With every one who is careful there is abundance: but the pleasure-taking and indolent shall be in want. |

| Вінець мудрих — багатство їх, а глупота невігласів глупотою і є. | A prudent man is the crown of the wise: but the occupation of fools is evil. |
|

|
| Вірний свідок спасає душі, а неправдивий наговорить багато неправди. | A faithful witness shall deliver a soul from evil: but a deceitful man kindles falsehoods. |

|
| У страху перед Господом — надія тверда, і синам Своїм Він притулок. | In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and he leaves his children a support. |
|

|
| Страх Господній — джерело життя, що віддаляє від сітей смерти. | The commandment of the Lord is a fountain of life; and it causes men to turn aside from the snare of death. |
|

|
| У численності народу — велич царя, а при малолюдстві народу біда володареві. | In a populous nation is the glory of a king: but in the failure of people is the ruin of a prince. |
|

|
| У терплячої людини багато розуму, а дратівливий виявляє глупоту. | A man slow to wrath abounds in wisdom: but a man of impatient spirit is very foolish. |
|

|
| Лагідне серце — життя для тіла, а заздрість — гниль для кісток. | A meek-spirited man is a healer of the heart: but a sensitive heart is a corruption of the bones. |
|

| Хто пригноблює бідного, той хулить Творця його; хто ж шанує Його, той благодіє нужденному. | He that oppresses the needy provokes his Maker: but he that honours him has pity upon the poor. |

| За зло своє нечестивий буде відкинутий, а праведний і при смерті своїй має надію. | The ungodly shall be driven away in his wickedness: but he who is secure in his own holiness is just. |

|
| Мудрість спочиває у серці розумного, і серед дурнів дає знати про себе. | There is wisdom in the good heart of a man: but in the heart of fools it is not discerned. |
|

|
| Праведність підносить народ, а беззаконня — нечестя народів. | Righteousness exalts a nation: but sins diminish tribes. |
|

|
| Благовоління царя — до раба розумного, а гнів його — проти того, хто ганьбить його. | An understanding servant is acceptable to a king; and by his good behaviour he removes disgrace. |
