Велич висоти, твердь чистоти, вигляд неба у славному явленні!

The pride of the height, the clear firmament, the beauty of heaven, with his glorious shew;

Сонце, коли воно являється, звіщає про них при сході: дивне створіння, діло Всевишнього!
|
the sun when it appeareth, declaring at his rising a marvellous instrument, the work of the most High:
|

|
|
У полудень воно висушує землю, і перед жаром його хто встоїть?
|
at noon it parcheth the country, and who can abide the burning heat thereof?
|
|

|
|
Розпалюють горнило для робіт плавильних, але утричі сильніше сонце палить гори: дихаючи полум’ям вогню і блискаючи промінням, воно засліплює очі.
|
A man blowing a furnace is in works of heat, but the sun burneth the mountains three times more; breathing out fiery vapours, and sending forth bright beams, it dimmeth the eyes.

|
Великий Господь, Який створив його, і за словом Його воно поспішно пробігає путь свою.
|
Great is the Lord that made it; and at his commandment it runneth hastily.
|

|
І місяць усім у свій час служить вказівкою часів і знаменням віку:
|
He made the moon also to serve in her season for a declaration of times, and a sign of the world.
|
|

|
|
від місяця — вказівка свята; світло його зменшується після досягнення ним повноти;
|
From the moon is the sign of feasts, a light that decreaseth in her perfection.
|
|

|
|
місяць називається за ім’ям його; він дивно зростає у своїй зміні;
|
The month is called after her name, increasing wonderfully in her changing, being an instrument of the armies above, shining in the firmament of heaven;
|
|

|
|
це — глава вишніх устроїв; він сяє на тверді небесній;
|
the beauty of heaven, the glory of the stars, an ornament giving light in the highest places of the Lord.
|
|

|
|
краса неба, слава зірок, блискуча прикраса, владика на висотах!
|
At the commandment of the Holy One they will stand in their order, and never faint in their watches.
|
|

|
|
За словом Святого зірки стоять за чином і не втомлюються на варті своїй.
|
Look upon the rainbow, and praise him that made it; very beautiful it is in the brightness thereof.
|
|

|
|
Глянь на веселку, і прослав Творця її: прекрасна вона в сяйві своєму!
|
It compasseth the heaven about with a glorious circle, and the hands of the most High have bended it.
|
|

|
|
Величним кругом своїм вона обіймає небо; руки Всевишнього розпростерли її.
|
By his commandment he maketh the snow to fall apace, and sendeth swiftly the lightnings of his judgment.
|
|

|
|
Повелінням Його швидко сиплеться сніг, і миттєво блискають блискавки суду Його.
|
Through this the treasures are opened: and clouds fly forth as fowls.
|
|
15
|
15
|
|
Відкриваються скарбниці і вилітають з них хмари, як птахи.
|
By his great power he maketh the clouds firm, and the hailstones are broken small.
|
|

|
|
Могутністю Своєю Він зміцнює хмари, і розбиваються камені граду;
|
At his sight the mountains are shaken, and at his will the south wind bloweth.
|
|

|
|
від погляду Його стрясаються гори, і з волі Його віє південний вітер.
|
The noise of the thunder maketh the earth to tremble: so doth the northern storm and the whirlwind: as birds flying he scattereth the snow, and the falling down thereof is as the lighting of grasshoppers:

|
|
Голос грому Його приводить у тремтіння землю, і північна буря і вихор.
|
the eye marvelleth at the beauty of the whiteness thereof, and the heart is astonished at the raining of it.
|
|

|
|
Він сипле сніг подібно до того, як летять униз крилаті, і спадання його — як опускається сарана;
|
The hoarfrost also as salt he poureth on the earth, and being congealed, it becometh sharp peaks.
|
|

|
|
красі білизни його дивується око, і паданню його дивується серце.
|
When the cold north wind bloweth, and the water is congealed into ice, it abideth upon every gathering together of water, and clotheth the water as with a breastplate.
|
|

|
|
І як сіль, розсипає Він по землі іній, який, замерзаючи, стає гострим.
|
It devoureth the mountains, and burneth the wilderness, and consumeth the grass as fire.
|
|

|

|
|
Подме північний холодний вітер, — і з води робиться лід: він розстилається на всякому вмістилищі вод, і вода одягається ніби у лати;
|
A present remedy of all is a mist coming speedily: a dew coming after heat refresheth.
|
|

|
|
покриває гори, і спалює пустелю, і, як вогонь, обпалює траву.
|
By his counsel he appeaseth the deep, and planteth islands therein.
|
|

|
|
Але швидким зціленням усьому служить туман; роса, яка з’являється, прохолоджує від спеки.
|
They that sail on the sea tell of the danger thereof; and when we hear it with our ears, we marvel thereat.
|
|

|
|
Повелінням Своїм Господь приборкує безодню і насаджує на ній острови.
|
For therein be strange and wondrous works, variety of all kinds of beasts, the race of whales.
|
|

|
|
Ті, що плавають по морю, розповідають про небезпеку на ньому, і ми дивуємося тому, що чуємо вухами нашими:
|
By him the end of them hath prosperous success, and by his word all things consist.
|
|

|
|
бо там надзвичайні і дивні діла, різноманітність усяких тварин, роди чудовиськ.
|
We may speak much, and yet come short; wherefore in sum, he is all.
|
|

|
|
Через Нього усе успішно досягає свого призначення, і усе тримається словом Його.
|
How shall we be able to magnify him? for he is great above all his works.
|
|

|
|
Багато чого можемо ми сказати, і однак же не осягнемо Його, і кінець слів: Він є усе.
|
The Lord is terrible and very great, and marvellous is his power.
|
|

|
|
Де візьмемо силу, щоб прославити Його? бо Він вище за всі діла Свої.
|
When ye glorify the Lord, exalt him as much as ye can; for even yet will he far exceed: and when ye exalt him, put forth all your strength, and be not weary; for ye can never go far enough.
|

|
|
Страшний Господь і дуже великий, і дивна могутність Його!
|
Who hath seen him, that he might tell us? and who can magnify him as he is?
|
|

|
|
Прославляючи Господа, звеличуйте Його, скільки можете, але і потім Він буде величнішим;
|
There are yet hid greater things than these be, for we have seen but a few of his works.
|
|

|
|
і величаючи Його, додайте сили: але не трудіться, тому що не осягнете.
|
For the Lord hath made all things; and to the godly hath he given wisdom.
|
|
34
|
|
|
Хто бачив Його, і пояснить? і хто прославить Його, як Він є?
|
|
|
35
|
|
|
Багато приховано, що набагато більше за це; бо ми бачимо малу частину діл Його.
|
|
|
36
|
|
|
Усе створив Господь, і благочестивим дарував мудрість.
|
