| Прославлю Тебе, Господи Царю, і звеличу Тебе, Бога, Спасителя мого; прославляю ім’я Твоє, | I will thank thee, O Lord and King, and praise thee, O God my Saviour: I do give praise unto thy name: |

| бо Ти був мені покровителем і помічником | for thou art my defender and helper, and hast preserved my body from destruction, and from the snare of the slanderous tongue, and from the lips that forge lies, and hast been mine helper against mine adversaries: |
|

|
| і визволив тіло моє від погибелі й від сіті наклепницького язика, від уст, що сплітають неправду; і проти повсталих на мене Ти був мені помічником | and hast delivered me, according to the multitude of thy mercies and greatness of thy name, from the teeth of them that were ready to devour me, and out of the hands of such as sought after my life, and from the manifold afflictions which I had; |

| і визволив мене, з великої милости і заради імені Твого, від скреготу зубів, готових пожерти мене, | from the choking of fire on every side, and from the midst of the fire which I kindled not; |

| від руки тих, що шукали душі моєї, від багатьох скорбот, які я мав; | from the depth of the belly of hell, from an unclean tongue, and from lying words. |

|
| від задушливого з усіх боків вогню і з середовища полум’я, в якому я не згорів; | By an accusation to the king from an unrighteous tongue my soul drew near even unto death, my life was near to the hell beneath. |
|

|
| із глибини утроби пекла, від язика нечистого і слова неправдивого, від наклепу перед царем язика неправедного. | They compassed me on every side, and there was no man to help me: I looked for the succour of men, but there was none. |
|

|
| Душа моя близька була до смерти, | Then thought I upon thy mercy, O Lord, and upon thy acts of old, how thou deliverest such as wait for thee, and savest them out of the hands of the enemies. |
|

|
| і життя моє було біля глибини пекла: | Then lifted I up my supplication from the earth, and prayed for deliverance from death. |
|

|

|
| з усіх боків оточували мене, і не було того, хто допомагає; шукав я очима заступництва від людей, — і не було його. | I called upon the Lord, the Father of my Lord, that he would not leave me in the days of my trouble, and in the time of the proud, when there was no help. |
|

|
| І згадав я про Твою, Господи, милість і про діла Твої від віку, | I will praise thy name continually, and will sing praise with thanksgiving; and so my prayer was heard: |
|

|
| що Ти визволяєш тих, хто надіється на Тебе, і спасаєш їх від руки ворогів. | for thou savedst me from destruction, and deliveredst me from the evil time: therefore will I give thanks, and praise thee, and bless thy name, O Lord. |

|
| І я підніс від землі моління моє і молився про спасіння від смерти: | When I was yet young, or ever I went abroad, I desired wisdom openly in my prayer. |
|

|

|
| воззвав я до Господа, Отця Господа мого, щоб Він не залишив мене у дні скорботи, коли не було допомоги від людей гордовитих. | I prayed for her before the temple, and will seek her out even to the end. |
|

|
| Буду хвалити ім’я Твоє безперестанно й оспівувати у славослів’ї, бо молитва моя була почута; | Even from the flower till the grape was ripe hath my heart delighted in her: my foot went the right way, from my youth up sought I after her. |
|

|
| Ти спас мене від загибелі і визволив мене від злого часу. | I bowed down mine ear a little, and received her, and gat much learning. |
|

|
| За це я буду прославляти і хвалити Тебе і благословляти ім’я Господа. | I profited therein, therefore will I ascribe the glory unto him that giveth me wisdom. |
|

|
| Будучи ще юнаком, раніше ніж пішов я подорожувати, відкрито шукав я мудрости у молитві моїй: | For I purposed to do after her, and earnestly I followed that which is good; so shall I not be confounded. |
|

|
| перед храмом я молився про неї, і до кінця буду шукати її; ніби від кольору винограду, що зріє; | My soul hath wrestled with her, and in my doings I was exact: I stretched forth my hands to the heaven above, and bewailed my ignorances of her. |
|

|
| серце моє радіє за неї; нога моя йшла прямим шляхом, я стежив за нею від юности моєї. | I directed my soul unto her, and I found her in pureness: I have had my heart joined with her from the beginning, therefore shall I not be forsaken. |
|

|
| Потроху нахиляв я вухо моє і приймав її, і знаходив у ній багато наставлянь для себе: | My heart was troubled in seeking her: therefore have I gotten a good possession. |
|

|
| мені був успіх у ній. | The Lord hath given me a tongue for my reward, and I will praise him therewith. |
|

|
| Воздам славу Тому, Хто дає мені мудрість. | Draw near unto me, ye unlearned, and dwell in the house of learning. |
|

|

|
| Я зважився йти за нею, ревнував про добро, і не посоромлюсь. | Wherefore are ye slow, and what say ye of these things, seeing your souls are very thirsty? |
|

|

|
| Душа моя подвизалася заради неї, і у ділах моїх я був точний; | I opened my mouth, and said, Buy her for yourselves without money. |
|

|

|
| простягав руки мої до висоти й усвідомлював моє неуцтво. | Put your neck under the yoke, and let your soul receive instruction: she is hard at hand to find. |
|

|
| Я спрямував до неї душу мою, і серце моє віддав їй із самого початку — | Behold with your eyes, how that I have had but little labour, and have gotten unto me much rest. |
|

|

|
| і при чистоті досяг її; тому не буду залишений нею. | Get learning with a great sum of money, and get much gold by her. |
|

|
| І подвиглися нутрощі мої, щоб шукати її; тому я придбав добре надбання. | Let your soul rejoice in his mercy, and be not ashamed of his praise. |
|

|
30
|
| У нагороду мені Бог дав язик, і ним я буду хвалити Його. | Work your work betimes, and in his time he will give you your reward. |
|

|
|
| Наблизьтеся до мене, ненавчені, й оселіться у домі навчання, | |
|
32
|
|
| бо ви маєте потребу у цьому, і душі ваші сильно жадають. | |
|
33
|
|
| Я відкриваю вуста мої і говорю: придбайте її собі без срібла; | |
|
34
|
|
| нахиліть шию вашу під ярмо її, і нехай душа ваша приймає вчення; його можна знайти близько. | |
|
35
|
|
| Бачите своїми очима: я трохи потрудився — і знайшов собі велике заспокоєння. | |
|
36
|
|
| Придбайте вчення і за велику кількість срібла, — і ви придбаєте багато золота. | |
|
37
|
|
| Нехай радіє душа ваша за милість Його, і не соромтеся хвалити Його; | |
|
38
|
|
| робіть свою справу завчасно, і Він у свій час віддасть вашу нагороду. |
