A Song of Degrees. Many a time have they warred against me from my youth, let Israel now say:

Мно́жицею бра́шася со мно́ю от ю́ности моєя́, — да рече́ть у́бо Ізра́їль;

Many a time have they warred against me from my youth: and yet they prevailed not against me.
|

мно́жицею бра́шася со мно́ю от ю́ности моєя́, і́бо не премого́ша м'я.

The sinners wrought upon my back: they prolonged their iniquity.

На хребті́ моє́м ді́лаша грі́шници, продолжи́ша беззако́ніє своє́.

The righteous Lord has cut asunder the necks of sinners.
|

|
Госпо́дь пра́веден ссіче́ ви́я грі́шников.
|
Let all that hate Sion be put to shame and turned back.
|

Да постидя́ться і возвратя́ться всп'ять всі ненави́дящії Сіо́на;
|
Let them be as the grass of the house-tops, which withers before it is plucked up.
|

да бу́дуть, я́ко трава́ на здіх [на кро́віх], я́же пре́жде восторже́нія і́зсше;
|
Wherewith the reaper fills not his hand, nor he that makes up the sheaves, his bosom.

Є́юже не іспо́лни руки́ своєя́ жняй, і ні́дра своєго́ рукоя́ті собира́яй;
|
Neither do they that go by say, The blessing of the Lord be upon you: we have blessed you in the name of the Lord.

|
і не рі́ша мимоходя́щії; благослове́ніє Госпо́днє на ви, благослови́хом ви во і́м'я Госпо́днє.
