| Бо́же, уши́ма на́шима усли́шахом, і отці́ на́ші возвісти́ша нам ді́ло, є́же соді́лал єси́ во днех їх, во днех дре́вніх. | O God, we have heard with our ears, our fathers have told us, the work which thou wroughtest in their days, in the days of old. |

| Рука́ Твоя́ язи́ки потреби́, і насади́л я єси́; озло́бил єси́ лю́ди і ізгна́л єси́ я. | Thine hand utterly destroyed the heathen, and thou didst plant them: thou didst afflict the nations, and cast them out. |

| Не бо мече́м свої́м наслі́диша зе́млю, і ми́шця їх не спасе́ їх, но десни́ця Твоя́ і ми́шця Твоя́ і просвіще́ніє лиця́ Твоєго́, я́ко благоволи́л єси́ в них. | For they inherited not the land by their own sword, and their own arm did not deliver them; but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou wert well pleased in them. |

| Ти єси́ Сам Цар мой і Бог мой, запові́даяй спасе́нія Іа́ковля. | Thou art indeed my King and my God, who commandest deliverances for Jacob. |

| О Тебі́ враги́ на́ша ізбоде́м ро́ги, і о і́мені Твоє́м уничижи́м востаю́щия на ни. | In thee will we push down our enemies, and in thy name will we bring to nought them that rise up against us. |

| Не на лук бо мой упова́ю, і меч мой не спасе́ть мене́; | For I will not trust in my bow, and my sword shall not save me. |

|
| спасл бо єси́ нас от стужа́ющих нам, і ненави́дящих нас посрами́л єси́. | For thou hast saved us from them that afflicted us, and hast put to shame them that hated us. |

|
| О Бо́зі похва́лимся весь день, і о і́мені Твоє́м іспові́мися во вік. | In God will we make our boast all the day, and to thy name will we give thanks for ever. Pause. |
|

| Ни́ні же отри́нул єси́ і посрами́л єси́ нас, і не ізи́деши, Бо́же, в си́лах на́ших. | But now thou hast cast off, and put us to shame; and thou wilt not go forth with our hosts. |
|

| Возврати́л єси́ нас всп'ять при вразі́х на́ших, і ненави́дящії нас расхища́ху себі́. | Thou hast turned us back before our enemies; and they that hated us spoiled for themselves. |
|

| Дал єси́ нас, я́ко о́вці, сні́ди і во язи́ціх разсі́ял ни єси́. | Thou madest us as sheep for meat; and thou scatteredst us among the nations. |
|

| Отда́л єси́ лю́ди Твоя́ без ціни́, і не бі мно́жество в восклица́ніїх на́ших. | Thou hast sold thy people without price, and there was no profit by their exchange. |
|

| Положи́л єси́ нас поноше́ніє сосі́дом на́шим, подражне́ніє і поруга́ніє су́щим о́крест нас. | Thou hast made us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and derision to them that are round about us. |
|

|
| Положи́л єси́ нас в при́тчу во язи́ціх, покива́нію глави́ в лю́дех. | Thou hast made us a proverb among the Gentiles, a shaking of the head among the nations. |
|

| Весь день срам мой пре́до мно́ю єсть, і студ лиця́ моєго́ покри́ м'я, | All the day my shame is before me, and the confusion of my face has covered me, |
|

| от гла́са поноша́ющаго і оклевета́ющаго, от лиця́ вра́жия і ізгоня́щаго. | because of the voice of the slanderer and reviler; because of the enemy and avenger. |
|

|
| Сія́ вся прийдо́ша на ни, і не заби́хом Тебе́, і не непра́вдовахом в заві́ті Твоє́м, | All these things are come upon us: but we have not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt unrighteously in thy covenant. |
|

|
| і не отступи́ всп'ять се́рдце на́ше; і уклони́л єси́ стезі́ на́ша от путі́ Твоєго́, | And our heart has not gone back; but thou hast turned aside our paths from thy way. |
|

|
| я́ко смири́л єси́ нас на мі́сті озлобле́нія, і прикри́ ни сінь сме́ртная. | For thou hast laid us low in a place of affliction, and the shadow of death has covered us. |
|

|
| А́ще заби́хом і́м'я Бо́га на́шего, і а́ще возді́хом руки́ на́ша к бо́гу чужде́му, | If we have forgotten the name of our God, and if we have spread out our hands to a strange god; shall not God search these things out? |
|

|
| не Бог ли взи́щеть сих? Той бо вість та́йная се́рдця. | for he knows the secrets of the heart. |
|

|
| Зане́ Тебе́ ра́ди умерщвля́ємся весь день, вміни́хомся, я́ко о́вці заколе́нія. | For, for thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for slaughter. |
|

|
| Воста́ни, вску́ю спи́ши, Го́споди? воскресни́, і не отри́ни до конця́. | Awake, wherefore sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, and do not cast us off for ever. |
|

|
| Вску́ю лице́ Твоє́ отвраща́єши? Забива́єши нищету́ на́шу і скорб на́шу? | Wherefore turnest thou thy face away, and forgettest our poverty and our affliction? |

| Я́ко смири́ся в персть душа́ на́ша, прильпе́ землі́ утро́ба на́ша. | For our soul has been brought down to the dust; our belly has cleaved to the earth. |
|

|
| Воскресни́, Го́споди, помози́ нам і ізба́ви нас і́мене ра́ди Твоєго́. | Arise, O Lord, help us, and redeem us for thy name's sake. |
