| A Psalm for Asaph. O God, the heathen are come into thine inheritance; they have polluted thy holy temple; they have made Jerusalem a storehouse of fruits. | Боже, прийшли язичники в насліддя Твоє, осквернили святий храм Твій, Єрусалим обернули на руїну. |

| They have given the dead bodies of thy servants to be food for the birds of the sky, the flesh of thy holy ones for the wild beasts of the earth. | Кинули трупи рабів Твоїх на поживу птахам небесним, тіла святих Твоїх — звірам земним. |

| They have shed their blood as water, round about Jerusalem; and there was none to bury them. | Розлили кров їх, як воду, навкруги Єрусалима, і не було кому поховати їх. |

| We are become a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and derision to them that are round about us. | Ми стали посміховиськом для сусідів наших, наругою й соромом для тих, що оточують нас. |

| How long, O Lord? wilt thou be angry for ever? shall thy jealousy burn like fire? | Доки, Господи, будеш безупинно гніватися на нас, доки буде палати, як вогонь, обурення Твоє? |

| Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms which have not called upon thy name. | Вилий гнів Твій на народи, які не знають Тебе, і на царства, які імені Твого не призивають. |

| For they have devoured Jacob, and laid his place waste. | Бо вони поглинули народ Твій і місце його спустошили. |
|

| Remember not our old transgressions; let thy tender mercies speedily prevent us; for we are greatly impoverished. | Не згадуй давніх гріхів батьків наших, але скоро пошли нам милість Твою, бо дуже зубожіли ми. |

| Help us, O God our Saviour; for the glory of thy name, O Lord, deliver us; and be merciful to our sins, for thy name's sake. | Поможи нам, Боже, Спасителю наш, задля слави імені Твого. Визволи нас, Господи, і очисти гріхи наші ради імені Твого. |

| Lest haply they should say among the heathen, Where is their God? and let the avenging of thy servants' blood that has been shed be known among the heathen before our eyes. | Щоб не сказали язичники: «Де Бог їх?» Нехай на очах наших пізнають вони помсту за пролиту кров рабів Твоїх. |

| Let the groaning of the prisoners come in before thee; according to the greatness of thine arm preserve the sons of the slain ones. | Нехай прийде перед лице Твоє стогін ув’язнених; могутністю Твоєю збережи засуджених на смерть. |

| Repay to our neighbours sevenfold into their bosom their reproach, with which they have reproached thee, O Lord. | Семикратно поверни в серце ворогам нашим наругу їх, якою вони зневажили Тебе, Господи. |

| For we are thy people and the sheep of thy pasture; we will give thee thanks for ever; we will declare thy praise throughout all generations. | А ми, народ Твій і вівці стада Твого, будемо вічно прославляти Тебе і з роду в рід сповіщати хвалу Твою. |
