| Turn not man back to his low place, whereas thou saidst, Return, ye sons of men? | Перше, ніж з’явилися гори і створилися Земля і Вселенна, — од віку й до віку Ти єси. |

| For a thousand years in thy sight are as the yesterday which is past, and as a watch in the night. | Ти повертаєш людину у тління і кажеш: «Верніться, сини людські!» |

| Years shall be vanity to them: let the morning pass away as grass. | Бо тисяча літ перед очима Твоїми — як день учорашній, що пройшов, як сторожа нічна. |

| In the morning let it flower, and pass away: in the evening let it droop, let it be withered and dried up. | Ти, наче повінню, зносиш їх. Вони як сон, як трава, що зранку зеленіє й цвіте, а ввечері опадає, в’яне й сохне. |

| For we have perished in thine anger, and in thy wrath we have been troubled. | Бо ми в страху від гніву Твого, і від ярости Твоєї ми в тривозі. |

| Thou hast set our transgressions before thee: our age is in the light of thy countenance. | Ти поклав перед Собою беззаконня наші і таємне наше перед світлом лиця Твого. |

| For all our days are gone, and we have passed away in thy wrath: our years have spun out their tale as a spider. | Всі дні наші минають у гніві Твоїм, і роки наші щезають, як мрії. |
|

| As for the days of our years, in them are seventy years; and if men should be in strength, eighty years: and the greater part of them would be labour and trouble; for weakness overtakes us, and we shall be chastened. | Дні віку нашого — сімдесят літ, а як при силі — вісімдесят літ, і найкраща пора їх — труд і хвороби: час швидко минає, і ми зникаємо. |

| Who knows the power of thy wrath? | Хто знає силу гніву Твого, щоб страхом перед Тобою виміряти ярість Твою? |

| and who knows how to number his days because of the fear of thy wrath? So manifest thy right hand, and those that are instructed in wisdom in the heart. | Навчи нас так обчисляти дні наші, щоб ми придбали серце мудре. |

| Return, O Lord, how long? and be intreated concerning thy servants. | Повернися, Господи, доки ж? Змилосердься над слугами Твоїми. |

|
| We have been satisfied in the morning with thy mercy; and we did exult and rejoice: | Наповни нас вранці милістю Твоєю, Господи, і зрадіємо та звеселимось. |

|
| let us rejoice in all our days, in return for the days wherein thou didst afflict us, the years wherein we saw evil. | Звесели нас у всі дні наші — за ті дні, коли Ти смиряв нас, за літа, коли ми бачили зло. |

| And look upon thy servants, and upon thy works; and guide their children. | І подивись на рабів Твоїх і на діла Твої і навчи синів їх. |

| And let the brightness of the Lord our God be upon us: and do thou direct for us the works of our hands. | І нехай буде милість Господа Бога нашого на нас. Діла рук наших виправ і в ділах рук наших допомагай нам. |
