|
But my feet were almost overthrown; my goings very nearly slipped.
|
Який милостивий Бог Ізраїлів до народу Свого, до чистих серцем!
|
|

|
|
For I was jealous of the transgressors, beholding the tranquillity of sinners.
|
Мої ж мало не похитнулися ноги, мало не посковзнулися стопи мої.
|
|

|

|
|
For there is no sign of reluctance in their death: and they have firmness under their affliction.
|
Я позаздрив безумним, бачивши добробут беззаконних.
|
|

|

|
|
They are not in the troubles of other men; and they shall not be scourged with other men.
|
Бо нема їм страждання, й до смерти їхньої міцні сили їхні.
|
|

|

|
|
Therefore pride has possessed them; they have clothed themselves with their injustice and ungodliness.
|
У трудах людських їх нема, і не знають вони людської біди.
|
|

|
|
Their injustice shall go forth as out of fatness: they have fulfilled their intention.
|
Тому-то гордість підняла їхню пихатість, і, як в одежу, одягаються вони у неправду та нечестя свої.
|
|

|
|
They have taken counsel and spoken in wickedness: they have uttered unrighteousness loftily.
|
Пливе, наче олива, неправда їхня, живуть за похотями свого серця.
|
|

|
|
They have set their mouth against heaven, and their tongue has gone through upon the earth.
|
З усього глузують, зневажливо говорять про Бога, звисока розмовляють.
|
|

|
Therefore shall my people return hither: and full days shall be found with them.
|
До небес підносять уста свої, і язик їхній обходить землю.
|
|

|
|
And they said, How does God know? and is there knowledge in the Most High?
|
Тому звертаються до них люди і п’ють їхню воду повною чашею,
|
|

|

|
|
Behold, these are the sinners, and they that prosper always: they have possessed wealth.
|
і кажуть: «Як довідається Бог? І чи знає Всевишній?»
|
|

|

|
|
And I said, Verily in vain have I justified my heart, and washed my hands in innocency.
|
І ось ці нечестивці завжди живуть у достатку і примножують багатство.
|
|

|

|
|
For I was plagued all the day, and my reproof was every morning.
|
[І я сказав: ] «Чи не даремно я дбаю про чистоту серця і в невинності умивав руки мої;
|
|
15
|

|
|
If I said, I will speak thus; behold, I should have broken covenant with the generation of thy children.
|
віддавав себе під удари щодня і щоранку себе осуджував?»
|
|

|

|
|
And I undertook to understand this, but it is too hard for me,
|
Але коли б я сказав: «Буду і я так жити», то я став би зрадником перед родом синів Твоїх.
|
|

|

|
|
until I go into the sanctuary of God; and so understand the latter end.
|
І я став думати, як би мені все це зрозуміти, але тяжким було це в очах моїх.
|
|

|
Surely thou hast appointed judgments to them because of their crafty dealings: thou hast cast them down when they were lifted up.
|
Аж поки не ввійшов я у святиню Божу та не зрозумів кінця їхнього.
|
|

|

|
|
How have they become desolate! suddenly they have failed: they have perished because of their iniquity.
|
Дійсно, на слизькій дорозі поставив Ти їх, над прірвою стоять вони.
|
|

|
|
As the dream of one awakening, O Lord, in thy city thou wilt despise their image.
|
Як несподівано прийшли вони до занепаду! Щезли, погинули за беззаконня свої.
|
|

|

|
|
For my heart has rejoiced, and my reins have been gladdened.
|
Як щезає сон того, хто прокинувся, так Ти, Господи, розбудивши їх, знищив помисли їхні у місті Твоїм.
|
|

|
|
But I was vile and knew not: I became brutish before thee.
|
Коли хвилювалося серце моє і боліла душа моя,
|
|
23
|

|
|
Yet I am continually with thee: thou hast holden my right hand.
|
я був нерозумним, я як тварина був перед Тобою.
|
|

|

|
|
Thou hast guided me by thy counsel, and thou hast taken me to thyself with glory.
|
Але я завжди з Тобою, Ти тримаєш мене за праву руку мою.
|
|

|
|
For what have I in heaven but thee? and what have I desired upon the earth beside thee?
|
Ти порадою Твоєю провадиш мене, і до слави Твоєї Ти приймеш мене.
|
|

|
|
My heart and my flesh have failed: but God is the strength of my heart, and God is my portion for ever.
|
Хто бо для мене є на небі? І чого без Тебе бажати мені на землі?
|
|

|
|
For, behold, they that remove themselves far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed every one that goes a whoring from thee.
|
Знемагають серце моє і тіло моє за Тобою, Боже серця мого і доле моя, Боже, навіки.
|
|

|
|
But it is good for me to cleave close to God, to put my trust in the Lord; that I may proclaim all thy praises in the gates of the daughter of Sion.
|
Бо ось ті, що віддалили себе від Тебе, гинуть. Ти знищуєш кожного, хто відступає від Тебе.
