| O Lord God of my salvation, I have cried by day and in the night before thee. | Господи, Боже спасіння мого, вдень я взиваю і вночі перед Тобою. |

| Let my prayer come in before thee; incline thine ear to my supplication, O Lord. | Нехай дійде до Тебе молитва моя, прихили вухо Твоє до моління мого. |

| For my soul is filled with troubles, and my life has drawn nigh to Hades. | Бо стражданнями сповнилася душа моя, і життя моє до пекла наблизилося. |

| I have been reckoned with them that go down to the pit; I became as a man without help; | Приєднався я до тих, що сходять у могилу: я став як людина без сили, |

| free among the dead, as the slain ones cast out, who sleep in the tomb; whom thou rememberest no more; and they are rejected from thy hand. | між мертвими кинутий я, — як убиті, що сплять у гробі, про яких Ти вже не згадуєш і які від руки Твоєї відринуті. |

| They laid me in the lowest pit, in dark places, and in the shadow of death. | Ти поклав мене у рові преісподнім, у темряві і тіні смертній. |

| Thy wrath has pressed heavily upon me, and thou hast brought upon me all thy billows. Pause. | На мені утвердилася ярість Твоя, і всі хвилі Твої навів Ти [на мене]. |

| Thou hast removed my acquaintance far from me; they have made me an abomination to themselves; I have been delivered up, and have not gone forth. | Віддалив Ти знайомих моїх від мене, зробив мене огидним для них. Я в неволі й не можу вийти. |

| Mine eyes are dimmed from poverty; but I cried to thee, O Lord, all the day; I spread forth my hands to thee. | Очі мої знемоглися від горя. Взивав до Тебе, Господи, весь день, підносив до Тебе руки мої. |

| Wilt thou work wonders for the dead? or shall physicians raise them up, that they shall praise thee? | Хіба для мертвих Ти твориш чудеса? А чи мертві воскреснуть і прославлятимуть Тебе? |

| Shall any one declare thy mercy in the tomb? and thy truth in destruction? | Хіба розповість хто у гробі про милість Твою і про істину Твою — в погибелі? |

| Shall thy wonders be known in darkness? and thy righteousness in a forgotten land? | Чи пізнані будуть у темряві чудеса Твої і правда Твоя — в землі забуття? |

| But I cried to thee, O Lord; and in the morning shall my prayer prevent thee. | Я ж до Тебе, Господи, взиваю, і вранці молитва моя упередить Тебе. |

| Wherefore, O Lord, dost thou reject my prayer, and turn thy face away from me? | Чому, Господи, відкидаєш душу мою, відвертаєш лице Твоє від мене? |

| I am poor and in troubles from my youth; and having been exalted, I was brought low and into despair. | Убогий я, і страждаю від юности моєї, смирився і знеміг. |

| Thy wrath has passed over me; and thy terrors have greatly disquieted me. | По мені пройшов гнів Твій, і страхання Твої сокрушили мене. |

| They compassed me like water; all the day they beset me together. | Оточили мене, як вода, весь день, облягли мене всі вкупі. |

| Thou hast put far from me every friend, and mine acquaintances because of my wretchedness. | Віддалив Ти від мене друга й ближнього, знайомих моїх — від моїх пристрастей. |
