| Hear, my people, and I will speak to thee, O Israel; and I will testify to thee: if thou wilt hearken to me; | Слухай, народе Мій, і Я дам свідчення тобі; о, коли б ти послухав Мене, Ізраїлю! |

| there shall be no new god in thee; neither shalt thou worship a strange god. | Нехай не буде в тебе іншого бога, і не вклоняйся перед богом чужим. |

| For I am the Lord thy God, that brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it. | Я — Господь Бог твій, що вивів тебе із землі Єгипетської. Розкрий уста твої, і Я наповню їх. |

| But my people hearkened not to my voice; and Israel gave no heed to me. | Але не послухав народ Мій голосу Мого, Ізраїль не підкорився Мені. |

| So I let them go after the ways of their own hearts: they will go on in their own ways. | Тому Я покинув їх на волю серця їх — ходити за похотями своїми. |

| If my people had hearkened to me, if Israel had walked in my ways, | О, коли б народ Мій послухав Мене, коли б Ізраїль ходив дорогами Моїми. |

| I should have put down their enemies very quickly, and should have laid my hand upon those that afflicted them. | Я скоро смирив би ворогів їхніх і на гнобителів їхніх поклав би руку Мою. |

| The Lord's enemies should have lied to him: but their time shall be for ever. | Ненависники Господні підкорилися б їм, а добробут їх був би повіки. |

| And he fed them with the fat of wheat; and satisfied them with honey out of the rock. | Я хлібом пшеничним годував би їх, і медом із скелі насичував би їх». |
