| Turn not away thy face from me: in the day when I am afflicted, incline thine ear to me: in the day when I shall call upon thee, speedily hear me. | Не відвертай лиця Твого від мене в день, коли я в скорботі. Прихили до мене вухо Твоє в той день, [коли] призву [Тебе]; скоро вислухай мене. |

| For my days have vanished like smoke, and my bones have been parched like a stick. | Бо щезають, наче дим, дні мої, і кості мої висохли. |

| I am blighted like grass, and my heart is dried up; for I have forgotten to eat my bread. | Я підкошений, наче трава, і висохло серце моє, бо я вже забув їсти хліб мій. |

| By reason of the voice of my groaning, my bone has cleaved to my flesh. | Від тяжкого зітхання мого присохли кості мої до плоті моєї. |

| I have become like a pelican of the wilderness; | Я став подібний до нічного птаха в пустелі, став як сова на руїнах. |

| I have become like an owl in a ruined house. I have watched, and am become as a sparrow dwelling alone on a roof. | Не сплю і став наче самотній птах на покрівлі. |

| All the day long mine enemies have reproached me; and they that praised me have sworn against me. | Кожного дня зневажають мене вороги мої, і ті, що хвалили мене, проклинають мене. |

| For I have eaten ashes as it were bread, and mingled my drink with weeping; | Я вже попіл їм, наче хліб, і пиття моє змішую зі сльозами. |

| because of thine anger and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me up, and dashed me down. | Від лиця гніву Твого і ярости Твоєї — Ти підніс і кинув мене. |

| My days have declined like a shadow; and I am withered like grass. | Дні мої, наче тінь, зникають, і я висох, як та трава. |

| But thou, Lord, endurest for ever, and thy memorial to generation and generation. | Ти ж, Господи, перебуваєш вічно, і пам’ять про Тебе з роду в рід. |

| Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Sion: for it is time to have mercy upon her, for the set time is come. | Ти встанеш і змилосердишся над Сионом, бо вже час помилувати його, бо вже прийшов призначений час. |

| For thy servants have taken pleasure in her stones, and they shall pity her dust. | Бо раби Твої полюбили й каміння його, і жаль їм руїн його. |

| So the nations shall fear thy name, O Lord, and all kings thy glory. | І будуть народи боятись імені Твого, і всі царі землі — слави Твоєї. |

| For the Lord shall build up Sion, and shall appear in his glory. | Бо відбудує Господь Сион і явиться у славі Своїй. |
|

|
| He has had regard to the prayer of the lowly, and has not despised their petition. | Він зглянеться на молитви смиренних і не відкине благання їх. |
|

| Let this be written for another generation; and the people that shall be created shall praise the Lord. | І буде написано про це для поколінь майбутніх, і люди, що народяться, будуть хвалити Господа. |

| For he has looked out from the height of his sanctuary; the Lord looked upon the earth from heaven; | Бо Він прихилився з висоти святої Своєї, поглянув Господь з небес на землю, |

| to hear the groaning of the fettered ones, to loosen the sons of the slain; | щоб почути стогін ув’язнених, звільнити синів, на смерть засуджених, |

| to proclaim the name of the Lord in Sion, and his praise in Jerusalem; | щоб прославляли ім’я Господнє в Сионі і хвалили Його в Єрусалимі, |

| when the people are gathered together, and the kings, to serve the Lord. | коли разом зберуться народи й царства, щоб служити Господу. |

| He answered him in the way of his strength: tell me the fewness of my days. | Ти виснажив у дорозі сили мої, вкоротив дні віку мого. |

| Take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years are through all generations. | І я сказав: «Боже мій! Не знищуй мене на половині життя мого, Твої літа в роді родів вічно. |

| In the beginning thou, O Lord, didst lay the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands. | На початку Ти, [Господи,] землю створив, і небеса — діло рук Твоїх. |

|
| They shall perish, but thou remainest: and they all shall wax old as a garment; and as a vesture shalt thou fold them, and they shall be changed. | Вони загинуть, Ти ж існуватимеш; вони, наче риза, постаріють; як одежу, переміниш їх, і вони зміняться. |

|
| But thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail. | Ти ж усе Той Самий, і літа Твої не скінчаться. |

| The children of thy servants shall dwell securely, and their seed shall prosper for ever. | Сини рабів Твоїх будуть жити, і насліддя їх утвердиться перед лицем Твоїм повік». |
