| Боже, вухами нашими почули ми, і отці наші сповістили нам про діла, які вчинив Ти в часи їхні, часи давні. | O God, we have heard with our ears, our fathers have told us, the work which thou wroughtest in their days, in the days of old. |

| Рукою Твоєю Ти знищив народи, а їх оселив, знищив племена, а їх розмножив. | Thine hand utterly destroyed the heathen, and thou didst plant them: thou didst afflict the nations, and cast them out. |

|
| Не мечем вони придбали землю і не їхня сила спасла їх, а Твоя рука і Твоя сила й світло лиця Твого, бо Ти благоволив до них. | For they inherited not the land by their own sword, and their own arm did not deliver them; but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou wert well pleased in them. |

| Боже, Ти — Цар мій! Ти Той, що даєш спасіння Якову. | Thou art indeed my King and my God, who commandest deliverances for Jacob. |

| З Тобою, як рогами, поб’ємо ми ворогів наших і в ім’я Твоє потопчемо тих, що повстали проти нас. | In thee will we push down our enemies, and in thy name will we bring to nought them that rise up against us. |
|

| Бо не на лук мій я надіюся, і меч мій не спасе мене, | For I will not trust in my bow, and my sword shall not save me. |
|

|
| а Ти спасеш нас від ворогів наших і осоромиш тих, що повстали проти нас. | For thou hast saved us from them that afflicted us, and hast put to shame them that hated us. |
|

|
| Тобою, Боже, будемо хвалитися кожен день, і ім’я Твоє будемо славити повіки. | In God will we make our boast all the day, and to thy name will we give thanks for ever. Pause. |
|

| Нині ж Ти відкинув і осоромив нас, і не виходиш, Боже, з військом нашим. | But now thou hast cast off, and put us to shame; and thou wilt not go forth with our hosts. |
|

|
| Ти попустив, щоб ми втікали від ворогів, і ненависники наші грабують нас. | Thou hast turned us back before our enemies; and they that hated us spoiled for themselves. |
|

|
| Ти, як овець, віддав нас на заколення і розсіяв нас поміж народами. | Thou madest us as sheep for meat; and thou scatteredst us among the nations. |
|

|
| Ти задарма віддав народ Свій і не підвищив ціни на нього. | Thou hast sold thy people without price, and there was no profit by their exchange. |
|

| Ти на глум віддав нас сусідам нашим, на посміх і зневагу всім, що навкруги нас. | Thou hast made us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and derision to them that are round about us. |
|

|
| Ти зробив нас притчею між народами, покиванням голови між людьми. | Thou hast made us a proverb among the Gentiles, a shaking of the head among the nations. |
|

| Щодня сором мій переді мною, і посоромлення вкриває лице моє | All the day my shame is before me, and the confusion of my face has covered me, |

| від голосу ганьбителя й наклепника, від погляду ворога й месника. | because of the voice of the slanderer and reviler; because of the enemy and avenger. |
|

|
| Все це прийшло на нас, але ми не забули Тебе і не порушили завіту Твого. | All these things are come upon us: but we have not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt unrighteously in thy covenant. |
|

|
| Не відхилилося від Тебе серце наше, і кроки наші не зійшли з дороги Твоєї, | And our heart has not gone back; but thou hast turned aside our paths from thy way. |
|

| коли Ти смирив нас у землі злостраждань і тінню смерти покрив нас. | For thou hast laid us low in a place of affliction, and the shadow of death has covered us. |
|

|
| Бо якби ми забули ім’я Бога нашого і простягнули руки свої до бога чужого, | If we have forgotten the name of our God, and if we have spread out our hands to a strange god; shall not God search these things out? |

| то чи не покарав би нас Бог? Бо Він знає таємниці серця. | for he knows the secrets of the heart. |
|

| Але за Тебе, Господи, вбивають нас кожен день, ми стали як вівці, що призначені на заколення. | For, for thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for slaughter. |
|

|
| Встань, Господи, чого спиш Ти? Прокинься і не відкидай нас назавжди. | Awake, wherefore sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, and do not cast us off for ever. |
|

|
| Навіщо ховаєш лице Твоє? Забуваєш скорботу та біду нашу? | Wherefore turnest thou thy face away, and forgettest our poverty and our affliction? |
|

|
| Бо душа наша принижена до пороху, і серце наше в землю втоптане. | For our soul has been brought down to the dust; our belly has cleaved to the earth. |
|
27
|
27
|
| Воскресни, Господи, поможи нам і визволи нас імені Твого ради. | Arise, O Lord, help us, and redeem us for thy name's sake. |
