Вислухай, Боже, молитву мою і не зневаж благання мого.

Hearken, O God, to my prayer; and disregard not my supplication.

|
Прихилися і вислухай мене, я плачу від туги моєї.
|
Attend to me, and hearken to me: I was grieved in my meditation, and troubled;
|

|
|
І тривожуся від голосу ворожого і від утисків нечестивців.
|
because of the voice of the enemy, and because of the oppression of the sinner: for they brought iniquity against me, and were wrathfully angry with me.
|
|

|
|
Бо вони чинять мені беззаконня й у гніві ворогують проти мене.
|
My heart was troubled within me; and the fear of death fell upon me.
|
|

|
|
Серце моє стривожилося в мені, смертельні страхіття напали на мене.
|
Fear and trembling came upon me, and darkness covered me.
|
|

|
|
Страх і трепет прийшли на мене, і жах огорнув мене.
|
And I said, O that I had wings as those of a dove! then would I flee away, and be at rest.
|
|

|
|
І я сказав: хто дав би мені крила, як у голуба, я б полетів та відпочив би.
|
Lo! I have fled afar off, and lodged in the wilderness. Pause.
|
|

|
|
Полетів би якнайдалі, став би жити в пустелі, ждучи Бога, щоб спас мене від слабкодухости і від бурі.
|
I waited for him that should deliver me from distress of spirit and tempest.
|
|

|
|
Розбий, Господи, і роз’єднай змову їхню, бо беззаконня та ворожнечу бачу я в місті.
|
Destroy, O Lord, and divide their tongues: for I have seen iniquity and gainsaying in the city.
|
|

|
|
Вдень і вночі вони обходять його по мурах його, а усередині його — беззаконня та кривда.
|
Day and night he shall go round about it upon its walls: iniquity and sorrow and unrighteousness are in the midst of it;
|
|

|
|
І не зникають з вулиць його насильство і зрада.
|
and usury and craft have not failed from its streets.
|
|

|

|
|
Та якби це ворог ганьбив мене, я стерпів би, або якби це ненависник мій величався наді мною, я не зважав би на нього.
|
For if an enemy had reproached me, I would have endured it; and if one who hated me had spoken vauntingly against me, I would have hid myself from him.
|
|

|
|
Але ти, чоловіче, — однодумцю мій, приятелю і друже мій,
|
But thou, O man likeminded, my guide, and my acquaintance,
|
|

|

|
|
з яким ми щиро сходилися і до дому Божого разом ходили!
|
who in companionship with me sweetened our food: we walked in the house of God in concord.
|
|

|
|
Нехай загибель прийде на них, бо лукавство в оселях їхніх, посеред них.
|
Let death come upon them, and let them go down alive into Hades, for iniquity is in their dwellings, in the midst of them.
|
|

|
|
Я ж до Бога взиваю, і Господь почує мене.
|
I cried to God, and the Lord hearkened to me.
|
|

|
|
Увечері, і вранці, і опівдні буду благати й молити, і Він почує голос мій.
|
Evening, and morning, and at noon I will declare and make known my wants: and he shall hear my voice.
|
|

|
|
Він визволить миром душу мою від напасників моїх, бо їх багато в мене.
|
He shall deliver my soul in peace from them that draw nigh to me: for they were with me in many cases.
|
|

|
|
Почує мене Бог, і упокорить їх Той, Хто перебуває вічно, бо нема в них каяття, і не бояться вони Бога.
|
God shall hear, and bring them low, even he that has existed from eternity. Pause. For they suffer no reverse, and therefore they have not feared God.
|
|

|
|
Підіймають руки свої на невинних і оскверняють завіт Його.
|
He has reached forth his hand for retribution; they have profaned his covenant.
|
|

|
|
Уста їх масніші від масла, а в серці їх злоба. Масні, як олива, слова їх, але то гострі стріли.
|
They were scattered at the anger of his countenance, and his heart drew nigh them. His words were smoother than oil, yet are they darts.
|
|

|
|
Покладайся на Господа у скорботах твоїх, і Він підтримає тебе. Ніколи не дасть Він упасти праведникові.
|
Cast thy care upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee; he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
|
|
24
|
24
|
|
Ти, Боже, кинеш їх у яму погибелі. Кровожерні й підступні не доживуть і до половини віку свого. Я ж, [Господи], уповаю на Тебе.
|
But thou, O God, shalt bring them down to the pit of destruction; bloody and crafty men shall not live out half their days; but I will hope in thee, O Lord.
