Чи правду говорите ви, сильні; чи за правдою судите ви, сини людські?

If ye do indeed speak righteousness, then do ye judge rightly, ye sons of men.

Ні, беззаконня складаєте ви в серці. Неправду сплітають руки ваші на землі.

For ye work iniquities in your hearts in the earth: your hands plot unrighteousness.

Від правди відступили грішні, від народження свого, від утроби матері блудять, кажучи неправду.
|
Sinners have gone astray from the womb: they go astray from the belly: they speak lies.
|

|
Отрута в них, як у змії, як у глухого аспида, що затикає вуха свої,

Their venom is like that of a serpent; as that of a deaf asp, and that stops her ears;

щоб не чути того, хто проклинає, хоч би й як умів він заклинати.

Нехай щезнуть вони, як вода розлита, а коли пустять вони стріли свої, нехай вони не матимуть сили.

І скажуть люди: «Справді добре бути праведним! Бо є Бог, є Суддя справедливий на землі!»
